“Honestly, I’m very satisfied. It’s beyond what I expected, to the point where I’m looking forward to the wedding.”
Green’s excited voice came through the phone, satisfying Sun-woo and bringing a quiet smile to his lips.
“I can assume you’ll be attending the engagement meeting tomorrow, Ms. Han Green?”
“Of course. I will do my best.”
“Good.”
Pleased with the call, Sun-woo left his office and headed to Seongbuk-dong. His mother and Vice President of K1 Construction, Park In-young, had summoned him.
As he drove his luxury sedan into the parking lot of a high-end residence in Seongbuk-dong, the quietness of the house, a day before the engagement, struck him. Entering the living room, Sun-woo immediately sought out his mother.
“Vice President Park is waiting in the study.”
Sun-woo, taking a moment to compose himself, knocked calmly on the study door.
“Come in.”

Entering the study, he found In-young examining a pile of documents. She took off her glasses and greeted him.
“You’re late from work.”
“I received positive news from Marseille, France, about two hours ago. There’s a 90% chance K1 Construction will be the final choice.”
“Good work.”
A faint smile appeared and then disappeared on In-young’s face. She took a small note from the drawer and handed it to Sun-woo.
“Here are the time and place for tomorrow’s engagement. Your father and I will stop by Pyeongchang-dong in the morning before going there. Make sure you’re not late.”
“Understood.”
In-young always used notes for communication, even for things that could be texted or called.
Sun-woo, as usual, memorized the content and then shredded the note in front of In-young.
“The article on the front page of the Goryeo Daily a few days ago, is that why this marriage is happening?”

In-young frowned at Sun-woo’s question, seemingly hoping he was unaware.
“What article are you talking about?”
“The one about P Communications’ CEO being summoned for investigation over sexual entertainment for politicians. Is that the leverage Han Ma-taek has over my father?”
“Your father said he wasn’t involved.”
Accepting that Sun-woo knew everything, In-young readily admitted.
In fact, Jin Yeong-cheol had only mentioned the blackmail to Sun-woo, without revealing the specifics.
However, seeing Goryeo Daily breaking the news first and Wide Affairs, run by Han Ma-taek, eagerly following up, Sun-woo intuited his father was being blackmailed over the incident.
In-young took out two photos from the drawer and handed them to Sun-woo.
“Two months ago, these were sent by Han Ma-taek.”
The first photo clearly showed a car’s license plate on a rural road, and the other distinctly showed Jin Yeong-cheol driving to the villa.

“The road in the photo leads to that villa. It’s been shown on the news countless times. The date stamped on the photo is the day of the incident.”
“Right. But your father said he went to the villa at 3 p.m. and left at 5 p.m. The incident happened after 8 p.m.”
“Is there evidence he left the villa at 5 p.m.?”
“No. If we had that, we could escape the blackmail…”
“Do you really believe my father’s words?”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
Sun-woo genuinely wondered whether In-young truly believed those absurd words, or if she just wanted to believe them.
“If my father had nothing to do with that incident, why did he go to the villa that day?”
“He said he can’t tell the reason. But I have my guesses.”
“Ha!”
It was unbelievable. There was evidence that Jin Yeong-cheol had entered the villa, but none that he had left early. He even couldn’t reveal why he went there.

Yet, In-young insisted there was no reason not to trust her husband.
Sun-woo looked at In-young incredulously, but her faith in her husband was unshakable.
In-young cautiously broached the subject with Sun-woo.
“Right now, everything is too unfavorable for your father. We found a way, but it’s unavoidable. It seems we must proceed with your marriage as he demands.”
“It doesn’t matter to me. The women I’ve met through arranged meetings or Han Ma-taek’s daughter are all the same to me.”
“That’s an immature thing to say. The women your father introduced could have supported you.”
Sun-woo looked at In-young, seemingly hurt.
Jin Yeong-cheol’s introduction of daughters from influential political families was to push Sun-woo out of K1 Construction and into politics. Yet, In-young acted as if it was all fine.
“Do you wish for me to leave the company and enter politics?”
“If that’s what you want.”

“…….”
“In-young, father said he would file for divorce as soon as he finds evidence to prove his innocence. Please bear with it a little longer.”
In-young still appeared unwilling to let go, and Sun-woo quickly regained his composure.
He then decided to share his plans for marrying Green with In-young.
“What do you think is Han Ma-taek’s reason for pushing this marriage with K1 Construction?”
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
