“I tracked Choi Geon-sik’s movements on the day of the accident. The day before, he held a sports event with his supporters and had an after-party until dawn. To go from his house to Yeouido, Seoul, he had to pass the intersection where the accident occurred. I am sure he drove under the influence of a hangover that day.”
Han Moon-taek’s words were quite persuasive. The only regret was a lack of direct evidence.
“The day after the accident, Choi Geon-sik inexplicably scrapped his car. It’s not reasonable to scrap a car that’s barely a year old, right?”
“Two years ago, the culprit turned himself in, right? Ironically, he worked as Choi Geon-sik’s driver ten years ago.”
Han Moon-taek nodded slowly. His eyes were full of resentment.
At that moment, Seonwoo looked at Han Moon-taek with an expression as if he had realized something.
“When my father set fire to the Chae Hwa and went to Choi Geon-sik’s villa, was my father also chasing after Choi Geon-sik that day?”
Unexpectedly, Green was surprised, and Han Moon-taek avoided her gaze as if he had been pierced.
“There were signs that something illegal might happen at Choi Geon-sik’s villa. But I didn’t know your father would come.”
Green was dumbfounded by Han Moon-taek’s excuse-like words.
While chasing the hit-and-run culprit, he had the leisure to plan a scenario to threaten Jin Young-chul and force him to marry her and Seonwoo. It was mind-boggling.

“Did your father have the intention to catch the culprit? How could he think of threatening Jin Young-chul to force me and Seonwoo to get married in the middle of that?”
Green exclaimed in excitement, and Seonwoo quickly grabbed her hand to calm her down. When his daughter showed signs of calming down a bit, Han Moon-taek opened his mouth as if feeling unjust.
“I never neglected chasing Choi Geon-sik. I just happened to have a good plan when I saw Congressman Jin Young-chul and Chae Hwa. It would be more honorable to see your mother-in-law later if you married into a good family.”
“Father!”
Thanks to Seonwoo, Green, who had barely managed to contain her anger, finally exploded. Seonwoo, sensing that she might get even more furious, quickly asked Han Moon-taek a question.
“Did you find out anything else after that?”
“I begged the person who turned himself in to tell the truth and even threatened Choi Geon-sik, but it was useless. In the end, he counter-sued me for attempted extortion using threats.”
Han Moon-taek answered with a defeated look. Seonwoo, nodding in agreement, held Green’s hand and stood up.
“I understand. I’ll find a way and get back to you.”
At that moment, Han Moon-taek looked at Seonwoo with a somewhat moved and deeply suspicious gaze.

“Why are you helping me? I was trying to divorce the two of them.”
“Because Green wants to catch the real culprit behind her mother-in-law’s accident. Anyway, we won’t get divorced.”
After bowing to Han Moon-taek, Seonwoo held Green’s hand and walked away.
“I’ll contact you again.”
Looking at her father for a moment, Green followed Seonwoo after seeing the hope shining in his eyes.
Sighing next to Seonwoo, who was driving, Green spoke.
“Now what do we do, Seonwoo?”
“Isn’t it best to follow the law? It’s about time to use my legal background.”
“Director Ahn Yong-gi is from the law school?”
“Yeah. Among Yong-gi’s close friends, there’s a prosecutor, and that friend is no less than Yong-gi in terms of influence. He particularly hates abuse of power.”

Seonwoo tightly held Green’s hand.
“I’ll handle it well. So, let’s not hate your father too much for threatening us with your father’s photo.”
“What are you saying?”
Unintentionally, Green’s tone became sharp. Seonwoo smiled slyly and looked at Green.
“Thanks to that, we met. When I think about it, I can forgive Father-in-law. Even that night when he imprisoned you and set my insides on fire.”
“Huh, Seonwoo wasn’t the one imprisoned!”
Green replied coldly, but internally, she somewhat agreed with his words.
Noticing her change, Seonwoo reached out and gently stroked her head.
The car carrying Seonwoo and Green smoothly slid to a stop in front of K1 Hotel.
K1 Hotel’s upscale French restaurant boasted the best Han River view in Seoul. Today, Seonwoo and Green were planning to double date with Hanna and Morgan here.
It was Seonwoo’s idea. Although the surface reason was to treat them to a meal as a token of gratitude, there was a hidden intention.

Just as the world widely knew that Morgan’s woman was Hanna, Seonwoo harbored a dark desire to let the world know that Jin Seonwoo’s woman was Green.
“Welcome, Director Jin. Allow me to guide you.”
As the two entered the restaurant, the head waiter personally escorted them to their seats.
Normally, they would choose a private area protected for privacy, but this time, they opted for a table by the floor-to-ceiling window.
While it offered a great view of the Han River, it was also a very conspicuous spot for reporters to observe from somewhere in the hall.
After a while, Hanna and Morgan entered the restaurant holding hands and confidently approached the table where Seonwoo and Green were waiting, walking as if on a runway.
Once the four were seated, the head waiter poured wine that Seonwoo had already ordered into their glasses.
Seonwoo felt sorry and grateful to the two who pretended to be a fake couple for Green.
“To the beginning of our relationships, shall we toast?”
Seonwoo smiled kindly, extending his glass. Hanna and Morgan awkwardly clinked glasses.

Green felt uncomfortable. It was because Hanna and Morgan had made too much of a sacrifice for her sake.
At that moment, Seonwoo’s phone rang. He apologized and moved to another spot to answer the call. Green whispered to the two in a low voice.
“Are you really okay? You didn’t have to go this far!”
“It’s okay. It’s the best we can do.”
Hanna replied casually. Morgan nodded as well. Green looked even more distressed.
“Smile, Green! We brought three reporters with us.”
Hanna said playfully, narrowing her eyes. At that moment, Seonwoo returned to his seat. He apologized with a slightly embarrassed face.
“Sorry, but one more person will probably come. Is that okay?”
“Well, it’s okay.”
Hanna coolly replied. Green, taking a sip of wine, asked.

“Who’s coming?”
“Oh, Yonggi.”
At that moment, Green spit out the wine she was drinking.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
