At that moment, several men approached Dimidius Belial. They all had curious expressions on their faces.
“Excuse me… Could we have a brief conversation about a business matter?”
“Me too! I have a business I’d like to pursue with Your Grace!”
“Please give me an opportunity as well!”
It seemed they had a lot they wanted to ask about business ventures.
Olentia thought it was a good opportunity and handed Dimidius over to them.
“Yes. Please discuss it amongst yourselves. I’ll take my leave now.”
If she stayed with Dimidius any longer, they would likely end up fighting. It was their first official event as a married couple, and they couldn’t afford to argue in front of people.
Olentia thought the men who approached the gloomy-looking Dimidius were quite brave. She walked around holding a champagne glass. The founding anniversary ball was always crowded, and troublesome incidents tended to occur.
Olentia’s expression wasn’t pleasant either, and quite a few people approached her as well.
“Your Grace, I apologize if this is an inappropriate question, but I’m terribly curious. How did you meet the Grand Duke?”
Olentia wracked her brain to answer the noblewoman’s question. Quite a few noble ladies and noblewomen were waiting for her response.
“I mistakenly got into the Grand Duke’s carriage. That’s when we first met.”
She didn’t feel good about lying, but there were too many curious people to avoid it. Olentia thought it was better for this marriage to appear like an ordinary romantic union. She didn’t want the inheritance issue to be brought up unnecessarily. Besides, she didn’t think people would understand a contract marriage.
Another noble lady spoke with intrigue at Olentia’s words.
“Then you must have seen His Grace without his mask on? Since you’re married now.”
It was an unexpected question.
But she couldn’t say she hadn’t seen it, so she nodded.
“What’s he like?”
“Why does he wear a mask in the first place?”
“I’m so curious what His Grace’s face looks like!”
Curious gazes constricted Olentia’s entire body. More people seemed to be gathering. She was greatly perplexed but managed to force out a response.
“He’s just ordinary. Don’t be so curious!”
She had seen Dimidius’s very handsome face in her prophetic dream, but she felt like she would come under focused attack if she said that.
Olentia quickly escaped from the crowd and rested for a moment. If she stayed there any longer, who knows what she would hear.
That’s when it happened.
A white light began to appear in Olentia’s vision. It was similar to the shimmer she had seen from the sunflower-like fantasy grass.
Startled, Olentia approached the left corridor where the light flowed. Being drawn to sacred power seemed to be quite instinctual.
The undulating white light looked so beautiful, like waves.
As she walked down the corridor observing it, the door on the left suddenly flung open and someone leaped out from there. Olentia was grabbed by a man and pulled into the room.
Catching her breath, Olentia looked up at the face of the man who had brought her into the room.
“Gasp! Y-Your Highness, the Crown Prince?”
It was none other than Regalis Pulpa, the Crown Prince of the Bonus Empire.
With his flashy silver hair and clear blue eyes, he flashed a big smile.
“Were you surprised?”
Olentia immediately nodded.
“Yes. Of course! What’s going on?”
“I had something to say to you, Your Grace.”
“Here?”
“Yes. Right here.”
Olentia scanned the room and blinked in surprise. She thought it seemed familiar – it resembled the room from her prophetic dream, with the same shape of piano. It was a large piano, the kind used for concerts.
This room was undoubtedly for piano performances. It was very spacious and had good acoustics for speaking.
Feeling dizzy, Olentia said to Regalis:
“What do you want to say… that requires us to be alone in a room like this? Let’s go outside.”
After all, now that she was married, it felt awkward to be alone in a room with another man.
As Olentia tried to leave, Regalis spoke from behind her.
“Your Grace. Are you considering getting a divorce right now?”
‘What is he talking about?!’
Olentia was startled and covered her surprised mouth with one hand as she turned around. Her body was stiff and her voice barely came out.
But Regalis still had a beaming smile on his face.
“Do you want me to say this outside then?”
“No! No!”
That would surely lead to big trouble.
Olentia meekly sat in the chair Regalis indicated. Her heart was pounding and she broke out in a cold sweat.
Asking if she was considering a divorce.
Of course she was, but that was planned for 5 months later. No one except Bobby should know that, so why was Regalis Pulpa saying this?
Olentia couldn’t understand it at all.
‘I thought it was just an insignificant prophetic dream, but this is surprising too!’
She let out a short sigh as she arranged her long hair.
“Your Highness. What do you want to say to me?”
At her question, the prince crossed his legs and leaned against the back of the chair. Unlike the tense Olentia, he looked very relaxed.
“From what I learned, you were originally supposed to marry Marquis Luxus.”
“Yes. And?”
“I can roughly guess. You brought another man because you disliked Marquis Luxus. Without much affection, and rather hastily.”
“……”
“In that case, now that you’ve put out the urgent fire, isn’t it right to end the marriage?”
Olentia listened quietly then tilted her head.
“That’s for me to think about and handle. I don’t know why Your Highness is concerned about it.”
‘Did he come to find me out of curiosity after hearing rumors about me? Even so, it’s strange…’
Olentia looked at him with suspicious eyes.
Regalis was a man with broad shoulders and a slim model-like build. He was quite popular with women. His blue eyes, common among royalty, were refreshing, and the slight upturn of his lips made him look jovial.
As Olentia’s dubious gaze deepened, Regalis raised both hands and glanced left and right.
“You look as if you’re about to arrest me.”
“Me? There’s no way I would do such a thing.”
“Anyway, Your Grace, don’t hesitate and get a divorce. I know an excellent match for you.”
‘Is he trying to get me remarried? But why?’
She felt she shouldn’t keep getting entangled with Regalis, whatever the reason. She couldn’t have such a sensitive conversation with the crown prince.
Olentia firmly shook her head.
“I appreciate your consideration, but I have no intention of divorcing right now.”
Olentia stood up resolutely from her seat.
“Then I can go first, right?”
She found it amazing that Regalis had grabbed her just to say such nonsense. She understood he was curious about her, but wasn’t he being too meddlesome?
But Regalis made a surprising remark, eyes narrowed.
“I know you possess sacred power, Lady Olentia.”
She shuddered in shock. How did he find out? For now, she felt she should feign ignorance.
“That’s not true. I don’t know what makes you say that.”
“Are you trying to pretend it’s not?”
“I’m someone unrelated to sacred power. It’s been so long since it disappeared from the Armeniaca family!”
She planned to keep denying it brazenly if there was no proof.
But the prince raised an eyebrow and calmly said:
“A moment ago, I used a sacred artifact. You seemed to see something and came towards the left corridor. The sacred artifact I used is said to appear as a white light only to the eyes of those who possess sacred power. So in conclusion, the fact that you possess sacred power has been revealed. I was surprised too.”
‘So the white light I saw earlier was because of the sacred artifact the prince used?’
Olentia covered her face with one hand, thinking she had been caught. She wanted to hide the fact that she had sacred power as much as possible, but now she was in a bind. A sigh escaped involuntarily.
She wanted to say that her coming to the left corridor had no reason or meaning, but he seemed too convinced. If Regalis had discovered through the light of the sacred artifact that she had sacred power, there was no point in making excuses.
In the end, Olentia clenched her fists and spoke.
“Sigh… Why did you even use a sacred artifact here?”
Regalis shrugged with a smile.
“Using sacred artifacts makes me feel good, probably because of the sacred energy. So I often carry them around.”
“Your Highness. Please keep the fact that I possess sacred power a secret.”
Olentia said to him with a serious expression. She had never been found out before except by Dimidius, so she was very concerned.
But to her surprise, Regalis readily nodded.
“Alright. I don’t know why you’re hiding it, but I’ll actively cooperate.”
“Thank you.”
“In exchange, meet with me tomorrow.”
“What? Why?”
Olentia looked at him with wide eyes, and Regalis answered with a chuckle.
“There’s someone I want to introduce you to.”
‘The match he mentioned earlier? Is he referring to a man?’
Olentia shuddered and protested.
“I told you I have no intention of divorcing right now!”
“You misunderstand. The person I want to introduce is Lady Daphne, the saint of the Bonus Empire.”
Saint Daphne?
Olentia was startled and covered her mouth with one hand. Saint Daphne was someone only the Pope or royalty could typically meet, and she was so veiled that meeting her was like plucking a star from the sky. To the people of the Bonus Empire, she was a divine being.
‘Is he really saying I can meet her? The prince wouldn’t lie!’
If she could meet her, there was so much Olentia wanted to ask. She was curious about how to strengthen her sacred power and how to deal with prophetic dreams. It would undoubtedly be a great help. Just knowing there was someone else who had the frightening experience of prophetic dreams was a comfort.
But why was Prince Regalis showing her such favor?
Arranging a meeting with the saint for someone with sacred power was a strong show of goodwill. Everyone loved the saint, but those with sacred power deeply revered and looked up to her.
Olentia felt the same.
Her heart raced at the thought of meeting Saint Daphne.
Before leaving to make the appointment, she asked Regalis:
“You’ll keep your promise to keep it a secret, right?”
Regalis then rose from his seat and approached Olentia closely. Before she knew it, his shadow completely enveloped her.
He looked down at her with a charming smile.
“We now have a secret just between us, Your Grace. I’d hate to break it.”
‘Does he always speak like this?’
She didn’t feel good hearing words that could easily be misunderstood.
Olentia finally left the room and returned to mingle with the nobles. It seemed best to act as normal as possible and converse with people. It would be problematic if she let on that she had met with Prince Regalis.
But Dimidius immediately approached Olentia.
“Where have you been?”
