Orentia nodded. She had never attended a masquerade before, so this would be her first time trying on a mask.

Suddenly struck by this silly thought, Orentia absentmindedly chewed on her lower lip.

The loudly rattling carriage had already entered a crowded street. Orentia stepped onto the ground, escorted by Dimidius, and a spontaneous gasp escaped her lips.

“Wow!”

Everyone walking down the street wore masks. She never expected to witness such a rare sight. Orentia quickly went to a shop selling masks and bought a suitable cat mask right away—she couldn’t possibly be the only one showing her bare face.

When Orentia put on the cat-eared mask, Dimidius burst out laughing.

“Haha! It suits you wonderfully, my lady.”

It seemed like the first time she’d ever heard him laugh so openly. His cheerful tone was unmistakable. Orentia looked up at Dimidius in momentary surprise. Thanks to her mask, he wouldn’t be able to tell what expression she was making.

‘If I said he looked incredibly happy—just like how I once told Podeon—would His Grace get angry too?’

Orentia was baffled by her own silly thoughts. She didn’t even understand why she kept wondering about such things.

She linked her arm through Dimidius’s and said,

“I don’t want to get lost. There are so many people here.”

“Yes. Hold on tightly.”
