Orentia carefully inspected the fountain and pretended to have lost her bracelet in the water.

Though the situation was terribly embarrassing, it was nice to see Podeon’s cheerful expression again after so long. Glancing at the priests passing nearby, Orentia spoke in a voice low enough for only Podeon to hear.
“Was it really that strange?”
Podeon nodded.
“Yes. I understand you acted because the cathedral’s atmosphere feels unusually tense today, but it seemed even more awkward than usual.”
Orentia agreed. She suspected the priests were on edge because Lilith and the Emperor were apparently meeting somewhere in the cathedral today. Of course, she wasn’t entirely certain the Emperor had actually come—it felt more like a trap set to lure Lilith here.
Was Dimidius, who had followed the twins to Lilith’s location, really going to be alright? She trusted him, yet worry gnawed at her.
Before her anxiety and overthinking could fully consume her, Orentia shook her head to clear her mind. Right now, she needed to focus solely on finding the Daemon bracelet in the cathedral’s fountain.
Orentia spoke to Podeon, who had stepped into the fountain, in a serious tone.
“It’s a bracelet with round obsidian and ruby stones mixed together. When I saw it in His Grace’s nightmare, I distinctly felt a dark aura emanating from it. Keep that in mind while you search.”
Podeon immediately focused and began scouring the fountain’s bottom. Orentia herself wanted to jump in, but such behavior hardly befitted a well-dressed noblewoman.
