Aside from the public worship hall, civilians were strictly forbidden from entering its other areas due to the precious relics kept within. Everything was managed in secrecy, making a full-scale search of the cathedral utterly impossible.

Sighing softly, Orentia lifted her head and looked directly into Dimidius’s eyes.

“Still, Mother promised to find and destroy the Daemon bracelet—even at the cost of her life. Doesn’t that mean the cathedral should cooperate? Once the Holy Father and the Saintess hear about it, they’ll surely want to confirm whether such an ominous object truly resides in the cathedral.”

Dimidius stroked his sharp jaw and spoke in a low voice.

“Of course, the cathedral side could conduct their own investigation. But if they actually find the Daemon bracelet, it’s hard to predict how they’ll react. The Daemon bracelet is an extremely dangerous artifact—it must be destroyed by Mother immediately upon discovery.”

Dimidius didn’t trust the Pope, the Saintess, or anyone else connected to Bonnus Cathedral. Given their longstanding hostility, it was understandable.
