Upon hearing Sokor’s words about returning the inheritance, Kikogelia, who had come, threw everything in the room. Sokor had returned the inheritance, but she didn’t want to acknowledge him.

If she couldn’t retrieve Olentia’s inheritance, she was willing to harm her.

Of course, she had to wait for the right time, and everything had to happen secretly, without Sokor’s knowledge. Sokor still seemed to have some affection for Olentia since she was his cousin.

Kikogelia asked her personal maid with a venomous look, “Is there a suitable place to kill Olentia? Perhaps during this year’s National Founding Anniversary Ball?”

The personal maid, who knew how much Kikogelia despised Olentia, was surprised and shook her head. “That’s too dangerous. Many nobles, including the Emperor and the Empress, will be there.”

“But I want to get rid of her right away. What should I do?”

Kikogelia couldn’t hide her excitement, so her personal maid tried to calm her down. “Well, there’s a hunting competition in the summer! You could pretend to be hunting in the deep forest and seize the opportunity to harm Lady Olentia!”

It was a reasonable suggestion. Kikogelia had been finding it difficult to endure Olentia’s rising prominence, even though she had married into the Bellial family, which was already well-known.

“Just because we haven’t had a proper fight doesn’t mean I’ll back down.”

In response to Kikogelia’s words, Sokor emitted a cold aura.

“Then what should we do? Shall we inquire about how much Armenia’s pottery is being supplied to the Bellial Estate? The inheritance is significant, and we shouldn’t give up on its profits forever.”

Sokor had acted strategically and carefully. He had even heard rumors that the churches in the Bonos Cathedral and Geranium were considering changing their pottery suppliers from Armenia’s to another. It was probably the will of the Holy Father.

He had gotten involved with the Duke Demidius Bellial, and it felt like he was ruining his thriving business himself.

However, he couldn’t completely cut ties with the Bellial family without returning the inheritance.

Kikogelia let out a sigh, flipping her long hair back. “Ha… I wonder if the first-half sales of this year will be okay?”

Sokor, while pressing the area around his eyes with one hand, replied, “It’s not okay, Madame. We are in a difficult situation right now.”

“Indeed. There are even rumors that the Archbishop might step down from his position.”

Various rumors circulated in Kikogelia’s salon, but the one suggesting that the Archbishop might be replaced was the most provocative these days.

With the Archbishop having forced Olentia’s marriage to the Duke, there was no doubt that he was under pressure from above.

Sokor shook his eyelids as if he were tired. “We’ll have to keep a close eye on the situation. I need to go see His Holiness.”

He found it challenging to listen to Kikogelia these days. It was difficult to be sure if their fragile marriage would continue like this.

Sokor got up from his seat and straightened his disheveled clothes. He didn’t know if he would be able to meet the Pope, but he intended to give it a try.

Olentia had married the Duke, but that didn’t mean she could stay estranged from the Church forever.
Olentia often visited the rose garden. The weather was refreshing, and the beautiful roses were a sight to behold, not to mention the delightful fragrance in the air.

Olentia spoke to Bobi with a determined tone, “What should I do first? Actually, I want to try charity work like my mother.”

Olentia’s mother, Malisa, had dedicated herself to helping the poor through charity events held at the Armenia’s mansion. Olentia vividly remembered how frequently charity bazaars were held there. She thought it would be wonderful if she could live like her mother, giving back to those in need.

Seeing Olentia’s bright expression, Bobi smiled broadly and replied, “You’ll do well, Lady. Although I’m a bit worried you might be deceived.”

At the mention of deception, Olentia widened her eyes, saying, “You’re right. Since I’ve never done business before, I might be deceived.”

“How about seeking advice from someone knowledgeable about business? There’s no rush.”

As soon as she heard those words, Dimidius came to mind. Among the people around her, he was the only one knowledgeable about business.

Olentia tilted her head upwards, thinking about Dimidius, who was always busy. She felt uneasy about asking him for help. It felt like she had taken up his time, and she should give something in return.

“I guess it’s just a passing thought.”

Olentia made a vague expression, and Bobi raised her head, asking, “Why do you say that?”

“It’s nothing! Bobi, you’re right; there’s no need to rush, so I’ll think about it slowly!”

Olentia only wanted to make the most of the inheritance her parents had left her. She didn’t want to spend it frivolously.

The day of the National Founding Anniversary Ball arrived.

Olentia descended to the first floor in a pale pink dress, and Dimidius, in a perfectly tailored Sleepis suit, was waiting for her.
