As the protagonist Ollentia appeared, people crowded around her.

“Congratulations on your wedding! Miss Armenia!”

“You look really beautiful today. How does it feel to be married?”

Ollentia hesitated for a moment, wondering what to say. Despite the somewhat chaotic wedding, she felt grateful for the congratulations.

She smiled and replied to the people gathered around her, “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime day, so of course, I feel happy.”

Of course, Ollentia knew that this wasn’t the end, but she chose to speak that way. In response to Ollentia’s answer, the lady of the house covered her mouth with a fan and giggled.

People seemed curious about Dimidius, but they didn’t ask directly. With the Duke present, they were likely trying to be discreet.

At that moment, Dimidius approached Ollentia. When he did, people naturally stepped back, as if they didn’t want to obstruct the Duke’s path.

Ollentia casually hooked her arm with Dimidius’s.

“Did you come? Everything went well, right?”

Dimidius nodded, “Yes, not many people approached me.”

“Is it because of the Duke’s presence?”

“I’m trying to suppress it. It’s probably just my discomfort.”

Ollentia had mentioned feeling uncomfortable around him before, so she had nothing to say in response. She greeted the guests with Dimidius and mingled with them. Most of them were acquaintances of her late parents and the people Socor had invited to sing. She thanked them for coming.

“Thank you for coming to the wedding.”

Of course, her uncle, Lord Odor, welcomed her warmly.

“Congratulations, niece.”

Ollentia felt reassured by her uncle’s words and smiled.

After finishing the greetings, a soft waltz began to play.

“Ah, is it time to dance now?”

It was just as Ollentia had expected. Dimidius led her to the center of the reception hall, and their movements flowed naturally.

People applauded as they watched the newlyweds.

Ollentia placed her hand on his shoulder and danced to the waltz’s rhythm. Every time her body twirled, her mind became clearer.

Dimidius was quite skilled at dancing. He moved gracefully without overdoing it or making mistakes. His steps were precise and neat.

Thanks to him, it wasn’t difficult for Ollentia to follow his lead.

During the dance, Ollentia asked Dimidius, “You don’t attend social gatherings often, but why are you such a good dancer?”

Dimidius let out a soft chuckle, “Isn’t it because of my natural talent? Dancing has never been difficult for me since I was a child.”

“I used to find it difficult. It’s much better now.”

Doing something with your body was truly challenging. Ollentia hadn’t been particularly skilled at physical activities since she was young. That might be why making a white spherical object with divine power felt so difficult.

“I wonder if I’ll be able to do it someday?”

At that moment, Ollentia accidentally stepped on Dimidius’s foot. She had been lost in thought and hadn’t paid attention to the dance.

“Oops! I’m sorry.”

Ollentia apologized, and after finishing the dance, Dimidius gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. His touch was very tender. To anyone watching, they would seem like a very affectionate couple.

“You were lost in thought throughout the wedding. I know.”

Ollentia shivered as she looked up at him. It was a tender gesture and tone, but she couldn’t understand why she reacted that way.

She adjusted her tousled hair and cleared her throat.

“I think I got lost in my thoughts because of various things.”

“It’s okay. It’s just a contract marriage, after all.”

He lowered his head and whispered into Ollentia’s ear.
Saying it was just a contract marriage secretly bothered her. And she couldn’t understand herself for having such feelings.

Ollentia looked at Dimidius with a serious face and quickly moved away from the center. Even though there was applause from the onlookers, she was more concerned about him.

At that moment, Socor and Kikojelea approached Ollentia. They wore awkward and embarrassed expressions.

“Aren’t you tired?”

In response to Kikojelea’s affectionate question, as if conscious of other people’s gazes, Ollentia shrugged.

“I am a bit tired. I have too much energy. Sister-in-law, you look unusually modest today compared to usual.”

Knowing how extravagant Kikojelea could be at the Duke’s mansion, Ollentia found her current appearance somewhat amusing. She wondered how scary the gazes of the people must have been for her to attend the wedding in such a quiet outfit.

Ollentia approached the silent Socor and spoke to him.

“How do you feel, big brother Socor? I finally had the marriage you wished for.”

She remembered the things Socor had been saying all along about returning her inheritance once she got married. Now that Dimidius was by her side, Socor would have to keep his promise.

Socor replied with a stern expression, “I didn’t expect you to get married for love.”

It didn’t seem like he really thought it was a love marriage, and it felt like she was trying it on a whim. There were people around, so she might be careful for that reason.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away

This is also on my reread list!

This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.

Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.

But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.

Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.

I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.

The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.

As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
