Even with this important information, Demidius paid no attention and continued walking outside the building. It seemed that he considered bringing her to safety the most important thing.

“Your Highness! Your Highness!”

After calling several times, Demidius finally turned his head to look at her.

“For now, let’s go to Count Odor’s mansion. It’s important to calm down after such a surprise.”

Demidius seemed to have no intention of listening to her words.

Ollentia thought it couldn’t be helped and got into the carriage. She couldn’t help but feel strange about his earnestness.

Ankedo’s aquatic mount, Marbu, climbed onto the carriage without hesitation in response to Demidius’ threat. It seemed that he had a talent for responding to threats. Just emitting a menacing aura was enough to make people shiver and obey.

As the carriage rolled on, Ollentia sighed heavily without even realizing it. She was restless because she hadn’t finished her work. However, Demidius suddenly grabbed her arm and asked firmly.

“There were forbidden magical tools in the building… Did you know what kind of person Ancedo is?”

Ollentia nodded.

“Yes. I agreed to participate in the illegal magical tool trade to find out the location of the money Ancedo embezzled.”

“Then those mercenaries who were following the carriage… were they hired by you, Lady?”

“Oh, you mean the mercenaries who were riding the luggage carriage? Were they caught? I wondered why…”

She hadn’t heard any news about them, so she assumed they had been caught.

Ollentia looked down and crossed her fingers. Being in the same space as Demidius made her feel suffocated and uncomfortable. She could feel him trying not to exude a sinister aura.

As soon as they arrived at Count Odor’s mansion, Demidius went to find Count Odor, leaving Ollentia in a room.

When they entered his study, Count Odor greeted Demidius with surprise.

“Your Highness, it’s nice to see you like this.”

“Yes, Count.”

“But what brings you here?”

Demidius immediately disclosed the location of the secret room where Ancedo wanted to hide. He also shared the story that Ollentia wanted to investigate thoroughly.

“There’s a room full of mirrors next to it. Please examine it carefully.”
Even without that, Count Odor, who had realized that the last person Thomas had contact with was Ancedo, nodded urgently.

“Your Highness, if you say so, we should definitely investigate. I will send someone immediately.”

“And that scoundrel tried to harm Lady Armenia. Attempted murder should also be included.”

“Ollen, Ollentia? Why her?”

Count Odor either looked surprised or opened his eyes wide. It seemed he hadn’t thought of the name at all.

After a while, Count Odor, who had heard the whole story from Demidius, clenched his fists with a sullen face. Demidius had never seen Count Odor make such a cold expression before.

“Thank you for saving my niece.”

Count Odor got up from his seat and bowed deeply. He seemed quite shocked as well.

Demidius left Count Odor’s office and immediately went up to Ollentia’s room.

Ollentia looked up at Demidius, who had entered the room, with a bewildered expression.

Did she really worry that she would disappear? Why was she so worried in the first place? Why was she paying so much attention?

Ollentia couldn’t understand his emotions.

She had changed her clothes while Demidius had gone to Count Odor’s office, and Demidius’s jacket was neatly placed on the table.

Feeling somewhat tense for no apparent reason, Ollentia spoke to him.

“Why did you come? Did you think I would disappear again? Or did you come to find your jacket?”

When she asked while sitting at the table, Demidius walked over and sat on the opposite side. He was a tall, imposing man, and sitting close to him made the room feel smaller for some reason.

Demidius looked at Ollentia with a serene gaze.

“If someone who knows so well does reckless things and makes me so worried, it’s not just a hobby or a goal for me.”

Ollentia immediately countered because she had never thought that way.

“Whether Your Highness feels that way or not, that’s not something I know. I just act as I see fit. I only had to find out where Ancedo hid the money he embezzled and had to pretend to be a fake customer and go in.”

“So, for what reason? Why go to such lengths?”

“It’s because of people’s lives! My marriage!”

She was about to mention the marriage, including the prophetic dream, but held back. It was for a greater cause, but she also wanted to win the Archbishop’s favor. Ollentia didn’t deny that she thought of herself as materialistic.

Anyway, now that things had turned out like this, she wasn’t sure whether she could win the Archbishop’s favor or not.

Still, she thought that since the future had changed, she might be able to save Morin’s life.

At that moment, Demidius raised an eyebrow.

“Marriage? Does that have anything to do with Lady Armenia’s marriage?”

He seemed more curious about marriage than a person’s life.

“It’s nothing.”

“You’ve already said it.”

“Just let it go.”

Her head was already spinning. She was worried about how thoroughly the investigation would be conducted, given that Demidius had just spoken to Count Odor.

Full of anxiety, Ollentia got up from her seat, and Demidius spoke.

“Sit down.”

‘An order, what’s this?’

Ollentia glared at Demidius with eyes full of dissatisfaction.

“You think I have to listen to Your Highness? I’m grateful for your help, but it doesn’t seem like you have the right to order me.”

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.

On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.

Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.

News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.

Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.

But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.

The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.

The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”

So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.

She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.

After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.

Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.

Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.

She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.

“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
