Moreng clapped her hands and guided Ollentia to the inner seat.

“Of course! If you want a rabbit doll wearing the dress you have on now. I’ll need to sketch it.”

Although the doll wasn’t the main focus, it couldn’t be helped. Moreng, Ollentia’s former lover, probably knew more about Ankedo than anyone else.

Was she being threatened by Ankedo, even though she knew he was a embezzler? Or was she still protecting him because he used to be her lover?

Ollentia was curious about what was going on in her mind.

Ollentia sat down and straightened her dress before sipping the tea that Moreng had brought. It had a soothing taste, suitable for calming one’s nerves.

“Do you have something to say to me?”

As Moreng started sketching, Ollentia took a moment to steady her breath. It wouldn’t be easy to bring up the topic.

But she was too anxious when it came to the prophecy related to her.

Finally, Ollentia gathered her courage and spoke, “The place where Ankedo hid the embezzled money. Do you know where it is?”

At that moment, Moreng’s face showed astonishment. She dropped the paper she was sketching and took a deep breath for a while.

“W-what are you talking about?”

Although Moreng picked up the paper again and acted as if nothing happened, Ollentia saw through her inner turmoil.

Ollentia tried to meet Moreng’s wandering eyes and continued, “A room full of mirrors. You must know where it is.”

“But what on earth…!”

“Are they trading forbidden magical items there?”

“I don’t know! I really don’t know, Miss!”

Unbeknownst to them, Moreng suddenly stood up from her seat. She seemed to imply that she couldn’t sit still any longer, putting her hand on her waist.

“You didn’t come here to buy dolls, so please leave now.”

Moreng’s voice was cold, but she was obviously trembling slightly. Ollentia didn’t want to think of her as a part of Ankedo.

“No, I can’t leave like this.”

Recently, she had a dream where Ollentia was crying and blaming herself at her graveside. The moment when her information was crucial to save her had come.

Ollentia bit her lower lip and quickly grabbed Moreng’s hand from her seat. Moreng, taken aback, blinked her eyes in surprise.

“Why, why are you doing this?”

“Why am I doing this? Don’t you know? Staying here is dangerous. So, let’s go to Count Odor’s estate together. It’s safe there.”

“What are you talking about? It’s dangerous.”

“Thomas, the guy who disappeared, is involved in all this. It’s Ankedo’s doing. I’ve seen and heard everything he confessed to Ankedo, that he dumped the body in the Centmi River.”

Upon hearing Ollentia’s words, Moreng lost her strength and slumped down on the floor. Even in this state, Ollentia didn’t let go of her hand. She was determined to take her with her.

Moreng seemed to be on the verge of collapse and breathed shakily. Ollentia firmly held her shoulder to support her.

Then, Moreng, with a trembling voice, said, “If that’s true… I’m in danger too.”

Ollentia looked directly into her confused eyes.

“So, until this case is resolved, you need to stay in a safe place. You shouldn’t even think about dying, okay?”

“Why would I die? And why are you helping me? There’s no such thing as a free lunch…”

“That’s right. There’s no free lunch. Give me information. Where Ankedo hid the embezzled money. What the room full of mirrors is. I have a lot of questions.”

Only then did Moreng stand up and said to Ollentia, “I’ve thought about reporting it several times.”

“…?”

“But I didn’t have the courage. So, although it’s cowardly, I’ll unburden myself by telling you.”

“That’s a good decision.”

“I should probably get rid of this pin now. Farewell.”

Moreng removed the shell hairpin from her hair and threw it into the trash. As Ollentia had suspected, it seemed to be a gift from Ankedo.
Ollentia listened carefully to everything Moreng said in the workshop. The trading location was a room full of mirrors, and she mentioned that the hidden embezzled money was in a room adjacent to the magical item trading location.

However, because the building was always veiled when they went there, she couldn’t pinpoint the exact location.

‘Does that mean they move to a hidden place after arriving at Ankedo’s saga?’

In that case, it seemed best to infiltrate disguised as a guest. Finding the location was crucial.

Ollentia decided not to reveal this information to Count Odor immediately. She didn’t consider him as the one conducting the undercover investigation. They had a meeting scheduled now, and she couldn’t afford to miss it.

Even in her precognition, she seemed to reject and regret this appointment, so she was determined to push forward.

If things got too strange or dangerous, she could just engage in magical item trading and leave.

Ollentia, with the exhausted Moreng in tow, exited the workshop. They needed to get to the Count’s estate quickly.

However, there was an unexpected person in front of the workshop.

A man wearing a white bauta mask.

It was Demidius Valial.

Why was he here?

Ollentia, while staring blankly at Count Odor’s two carriages, spoke to him.

Male lead is a Love-Obsessed Merman

When he discovers she has gone, he risks everything to pursue her on land, enduring agonizing pain to transform his tail into human legs…

One-line summary: Male lead chases female lead. The male lead’s love is a bit sick, an invincible love brain.

Synopsis

During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.

Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”

Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”

With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.

Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?

He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”
