Ha Eun’s eyelids fluttered at the vibration shaking the floor.

“Ha…”

Her head pounded as if she’d been binge-drinking all night, yet she couldn’t recall a thing. Just as she tried to clutch her head without even opening her eyes, she sensed someone’s presence nearby.

Her matted eyelashes parted, revealing a pair of sleek, high-end shoes in her blurry vision.

‘Who’s that man? And where am I?’

Just as she struggled to clear her mind, last night’s events flashed before her like a montage.

—“Prosecutor Kang Ji Ho felt really bad and sent me to drive you home.”

A man in a suit had rushed toward Ha Eun as she entered the parking lot.

‘Oh, but I brought my own car.’

—“Then, shall I drive for you instead? The prosecutor is really worried about you being followed.”

No matter how many times she waved him off, insisting she was fine, the man looked distressed and helpless. Plus, his repeated talk about being followed frightened her so much that, as if under a spell, she simply nodded.

He seemed trustworthy, and his concerned tone—coupled with Prosecutor Kang Ji Ho’s kindness—made her hesitate long before refusing him again.

‘Alright then, just don’t drive me all the way home. Could you take me to the sponsor’s office instead? I need to return something.’

After handing over her car keys and getting into the passenger seat, she remembered nothing else.
