Even though Ho Jin knew, he asked teasingly.

“We respond to threats with stern advice, and to illegal acts with arrest.”

Jiho’s educated approach earned Ho Jin’s praise.

By the time Jiho had reached the office, he had finished dealing with Oh Jong-hyuk’s case.

After all, illegal gambling or foreign exchange violations usually resulted in mere fines or suspended sentences. The punishment compared to other crimes was lenient.

What if he fully exploited the title of the entertainment agency’s CEO to create a dramatic scene? Like getting arrested at the airport and making it into the news.

“A proper disgrace would suit that bastard.”

“We need to crush his spirit so he can’t strut around for a while.”

A few days in the spotlight would likely bring out whistleblowers harboring grudges against Oh Jong-hyuk. Given his behavior, he was bound to have enemies.

“We only have two days to hold Oh Jong-hyuk once he’s caught at the airport.”

“We’ll need to get a search warrant for the company as soon as he’s in jail.”

“A tip or two from Rajin, and cracking open the secret ledger will be a piece of cake.”

Once the secret base is exposed, Kim Yu Jun will have to step in, and Jiho already had a plan for that precise moment.

“And one more thing.”

He pointed out the most irritating part that couldn’t be overlooked.

“That good-for-nothing said he’s going to the Bahamas.”

“The Bahamas?”

“He said it himself, so it’s not a lie.”

“So, you want to see the Myungjin foreign investment records?”

If it was a paper company for hiding slush funds, it wouldn’t appear in Myungjin’s records.

However, if there was any trace of even a dollar sent to a related place in the Bahamas, Jiho planned to dig into it relentlessly.

“When did we ever leave work on time?”

Jiho felt a bit guilty seeing Ho Jin’s drooping shoulders.

Jiho began to unbutton his jacket to secure the documents on the cart, stretching his white shirt tightly.

Jiho asked nonchalantly, not understanding.

“On your chest, there’s women’s makeup.”

Ho Jin pointed.

A round mark, though faint, unmistakably makeup, remained from Rajin’s tears. Jiho awkwardly averted his gaze, as if caught by a close sister.

He casually brushed off his shirt and re-buttoned his jacket.

“Rajin cried, remember? Stop assuming things.”

“Cried, yes. But did you perhaps comfort her with a hug?”

Ho Jin imitated the action, grinning like a hyena that spotted its prey. Jiho turned his back, pulling the cart.

“How exactly did you comfort our goddess?”

Used to Ho Jin’s frivolous nature, Jiho spared his words.

“Gently? Passionately? Huh?”
“Ah, really. Would you stay far away saying ‘let me know when you’re done crying’ to someone who’s crying?”

To Jiho’s question, suggesting if that would have been better, Ho Jin’s eyes curved like wings. He then giggled oddly with a strange expression.

“Oh dear. That’s sweet. So sweet.”

“Stop talking nonsense. Just go, hurry.”

Despite Jiho’s urging, Ho Jin grinned and mumbled almost inaudibly.

“Wasting time might lose the goddess… How should I push this along?”

“What?”

“Nothing. Go ahead, quickly.”

Ho Jin smiled broadly and took the lead.

“Ah, what a waste.”

“What is?”

“It’s a waste to dress up so nicely to meet Kim Yu Jun.”

Next to Rajin’s bedroom, in the powder room.

In front of a mirror that seemed like it came from a fancy shop, Rajin was checking her outfit.

“Kim Yu Jun can’t do anything in the main house, so I like it more.”

“Good. Use Chairman’s excuse to stay away from Kim Yu Jun. And be careful of dogs.”

“There are too many dogs there. Kim Yu Jun, Director Hyun, Secretary Kim. Which dog are you talking about?”

Rajin joked with a short laugh.

“They say there’s a ferocious hunting dog as big as a calf at the Myungjin main house.”

Ha Eun, who lived in the same apartment building as a child, recalled a time when they were chased by a dog at the playground. Maybe that’s why, even as an adult, she would freeze at the sight of similar dog breeds.

“Last time, I was so scared when it was tied up in the yard.”

Rajin remembered her visit during the New Year a few months ago. The memory still sent shivers down her spine.

“I already dislike it, but thinking of that makes it worse.”
