“Executive, how about removing Oh Jonghyuk this time?”

Chief Hyun raised doubts about Oh Jonghyuk’s value.

“That guy seems to be playing around with the prosecutors.”

Oh Jonghyuk’s role was solely a window for creating off-the-books funds. It was neither more nor less than that.

Despite being an old acquaintance, he had been used as a disposable tool, obediently moving as ordered. However, if a once useful existence became an obstacle, there was no choice but to neatly clean it up.

“First, check how much noise he made. Dealing with that shouldn’t be too difficult.”

In line with Kim Yujun’s notorious reputation as a shadow, Chief Hyun did not offer his opinion. Instead, he took it a step further.

“It’s the manager Oh Jonghyuk is kicking out.”

“Haven’t they already said they expelled him?”

“Yes. In dealing with Oh Jonghyuk for the last time, I thought we could use him.”

Handling Oh Jonghyuk, who swung around like a powerful figure, as his subordinate? It wasn’t a bad strategy. After all, betrayers were often close aides.

“You take care of that, Chief Hyun.”

“Yes, Executive.”

There was no need to waste time handling just Oh Jonghyuk. Kim Yujun thought about the next task.

“Let’s get out of here before dinner.”

“I’ll inform the defense attorneys.”

“Whether you fight with Kang Jiho or create a show by banging your own head, it doesn’t matter. Got it?”

How much money he took didn’t matter; it was something he had to figure out on his own. Such words naturally slipped out.

Of course, the defense attorneys were probably loyal to the exorbitant legal fees. Kim Yujun didn’t forget to instruct them not to let at least the baseline show.

Suddenly, he remembered Kang Jiho, who was smiling at his phone.

“Oh, and find out if there’s a woman around Kang Jiho.”

“From the reports, it seems he’s just focused on work.”

“No, there’s something.”

Kim Yujun’s gaze, filled with suspicion, pierced through the air. He contemplated, his eyes tracing the real gold carved into the white wall. Kang Jiho’s laughter had definitely seemed meaningful.

“Were all the tailing teams caught?”

“Yes. But since there’s no fear of escape, they’ve all been released.”

Hmm, a low sigh escaped.

“Renting the front building of the special prosecutor’s office, and leasing a monthly residence in Kang Jiho’s complex.”

“Monthly lease?”

Kim Yujun opted for a completely different approach.

“Don’t follow him outside clumsily. Instead, operate closely within the same building.”

“Should I rebuild the team?”

“Not a petty agency. Assign a 24-hour surveillance team composed entirely of former veteran agents.”

He had no intention of taking a single step back.

If Kang Jiho already had several pawns, it was his turn to scratch at least enough weaknesses to correspond.

Before the two could continue their next conversation, the lead attorney hesitated and approached.

“Executive, they say the investigation will begin in three minutes.”

“Ha. Let’s do it properly. Straighten up.”
A vitality surpassing the chill. The shoulders of the defense attorney who locked eyes with Kim Yujun involuntarily relaxed.

It was truly a spectacle.

Kim Yujun not only conducted the investigation negligently but also treated the waiting room as if it were his own office.

Not just taking breaks every two hours, but he even brought hotel-packed lunches to eat during lunchtime. Despite being told to eat outside, he claimed that he would lose face in front of the reporters.

Having conducted investigations from witnesses to violent criminals until now, this was the first time encountering such a situation, and a wry smile involuntarily escaped.

To the extent that some employees were saying Kim Yujun’s personal chef would be coming for dinner.

“If shamelessness is a skill, is this considered a skill?”

Even in the unique situation of a special prosecutor’s investigation, Kim Yujun showed no signs of yielding. He even seemed to slightly ease his temperament for today’s investigation.

Just what kind of person was Kim Yujun? A crazy narcissist?

There was no other way to express it.

Kim Yujun, who had ruled over defense attorneys like some kind of god, ultimately attempted to manipulate the investigation under the pretext of his condition.

“I understand now why Lajin wants to get away from Kim Yujun.”

Whether it was Kim Yujun or Oh Jonghyuk, the moment when Lajin’s intense dislike for both became truly understandable.

“I’m not feeling well. Isn’t forcibly detaining me like this illegal?”

He behaved consistently like an indifferent person, and now he even casually threw out threats under the pretext of cooperation.

“No one is in good condition while being investigated.”

Certainly, Jiho was no exception.

“Prosecutor Kang, is there any case where a witness is cornered like this?”

While exchanging sharp glances, the defense attorney jumped up to formally raise an issue.

Ignoring the defense attorney’s complaint, Jiho glanced at Kim Yujun. Since Kim Yujun was the one moving them, there was no reason to tire himself out with a tough guy for no reason.

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
