Jingling. Again, jingling.
Before they knew it, the two had quickly emptied a bottle of wine. Woo Yeon’s troubled thoughts weren’t about Kim Min Jun, but rather about Cho In Young.
Why did his fiancée have to be someone wearing the name Cho In Young?
Just thinking about it made her head fill with heat, almost driving her insane. If she followed her feelings tonight, she might cross the line.
She imagined spilling all her secrets to Seo Ji Woo while drunk.
But that was too risky a thought. Woo Yeon gently wiped her lips with a tissue.
“Ji Woo.”
“Hmm?”
“I think I should go now.”
“So soon?”

“Yeah.”
“But I said you couldn’t.”
“I can’t stay.”
Woo Yeon stood up abruptly, and Seo Ji Woo tried to hold her back with an adorable pout.
Just when the mood was getting warmer, Woo Yeon seemed intent on leaving after just getting a taste.
I won’t let her leave just like that.
“Just eat a bit more, pleeease? Huh?”
“No. I want to stop drinking. I’m already dizzy. And you know I matched my pace with you, right?”
“I know. But still, stay a bit longer and eat. Don’t leave so abruptly!”
“I feel like I might break out if I drink more here.”

“Who are you fooling? In the five years I’ve known you, I’ve never seen anything on your face.”
“I consistently visit the dermatologist, take regular care, and drink water by checking the time. You know how strict and tiresome I live.”
“Enough already.”
Seo Ji Woo’s usual sympathetic approach didn’t work today. Woo Yeon smiled softly.
“Min Gwon will be back soon. It’ll be uncomfortable.”
“He said he would be late, didn’t he? My husband always comes home around six in the morning when he drinks. So don’t worry about……”
Uh?
Seo Ji Woo stopped mid-sentence at the sound of the familiar beep of the security code being entered at the front door.
“Oh, oh…….”
The door inevitably opened.

Park Min Gwon, Seo Ji Woo’s husband, entered first, followed, ridiculously, by a face Woo Yeon knew.
“Oh no!”
Seo Ji Woo was rolling her feet in confusion, not knowing what to do.
Woo Yeon also hurriedly stood up. If she knew she’d encounter them like this, she wouldn’t have come here today.
The same was true for both Park Min Gwon and Cha Taekyung.
“Ji Woo, I’ll get going now.”
“Huh?”
As Woo Yeon hastily grabbed her bag and stood upright, Park Min Gwon was the first to recognize her.
With a hint of joy in his eyes, which he clearly hadn’t expected to see her in his house, he addressed her.
“Where are you going, Woo Yeon?”

Although it was Park Min Gwon’s voice, the person whose eyes met Woo Yeon’s was Cha Taekyung.
She couldn’t understand why he was here, but what was certain was her heart was racing again.
Mistaking it for the effect of alcohol, Woo Yeon averted her gaze from him.
Ignoring Woo Yeon’s silence, Park Min Gwon’s question now focused on Seo Ji Woo.
“What’s this about? I thought you were sick and even missed an important engagement ceremony. I didn’t expect you to be here with Yun Anchor.”
Seo Ji Woo’s face turned red as she hurriedly responded, her demeanor clearly that of a guilty child.
“Well, that’s… Honey.”
“Oh, have you been drinking?”
“Huh?”
Amidst the tense atmosphere, Woo Yeon answered for her.

“President Park, please don’t be too hard on her. Ji Woo said she was home, so I pestered her to drink with me.”
Park Min Gwon’s gaze shifted back to Woo Yeon. The sharpness in his eyes when looking at Seo Ji Woo softened a bit when they landed on Woo Yeon.
“Is that so?”
“Yes. I didn’t know you were sick. I guess you found it hard to refuse my sudden invitation to meet. You did seem to be in poor condition, but you probably didn’t mention it to avoid worrying me.”
“Right. Ji Woo really likes Yun Anchor.”
“Yes. I’m sorry for any inconvenience.”
“Now that we’re all here, let’s have a drink together. Ji Woo seems to have recovered.”
“What? No, I…”
“Sit down. I know avoiding is Yun Anchor’s specialty, but please indulge me since I have a guest today.”
“…….”
With that, Park Min Gwon indicated Cha Taekyung.

“Ah, this is Cha Taekyung, the president. You know each other, right? You asked for his contact information from me recently. Thanks to you, I watched the news attentively.”
“Yes… Thank you.”
It was a formal greeting. Just a polite response to his comment about watching the news.
In reality, longer conversations with Park Min Gwon often led to unpleasant situations.
Woo Yeon wished the conversation would end there, but he focused his questions solely on her, even with his wife and guest present.
“Yun Anchor’s broadcasting skills are still top-notch. Don’t I deserve something for my contribution?”
“…….”
Instead of answering, Woo Yeon glanced subtly at Taekyung, prompting Park Min Gwon to twist his face briefly before explaining why he brought Taekyung.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
