“Did you miss me?”
Taekyung said as he wiped his hands on a towel in the kimchi udon restaurant they had visited together before.
Normally, she would skillfully change the topic or avoid answering, but for once, she wanted to give him the answer he wanted.
Because it was sincere.
“Yes.”
“How much?”
“……”
“Explain in detail.”
With a perplexed expression, Wooyeon replied while pouring water into a cup.
“How do I explain that in detail?”

“You can do it, Miss Yoon Wooyeon.”
“I can’t.”
Turning her head away from his warm gaze, Wooyeon felt weak in her heart, noticing that his face seemed pale after a few days, as if he had lost weight. Come to think of it, he seemed to have lost a bit of weight. With a face filled with concern rather than resentment, Wooyeon looked at Taekyung.
“Were you busy?”
“A little.”
A staff member brought steaming kimchi udon to the room where the two were. Sharing kimchi udon on a cold winter day when the first snow fell. Wooyeon thought that this moment seemed quite romantic.
On top of the hot red udon were fish cakes, tofu, and crown daisy, arranged beautifully like toppings.
The spicy yet refreshing taste could already be felt, making her mouth water. It felt even more special because it was a familiar taste.
“Let’s eat.”
“Yes.”

“It’s hot, so blow on it.”
Wooyeon blushed at his childish behavior as he handled the udon, giving it a gentle blow.
Despite being known for his cautious personality more than anyone else, Taekyung’s mannerisms, especially when it came to eating, sometimes made people excited.
As she tried to take a bit less from the bowl, he casually added a remark.
“What are your plans for the weekend? Do you have any?”
“I’m meeting President Cha Eunha.”
“You meet often these days?”
“He pays a lot of attention to various things. Even things that were pressured by the higher-ups because they didn’t work as news items have been approved by the president.”
“So, you’re feeling proud.”
“A little. So, what are you going to do on the weekend, Representative?”

“Business trip to Gangwon Province.”
Again? Although she felt disappointed, Wooyeon didn’t show it to Taekyung.
This time, she quickly finished a whole pot of udon that they couldn’t finish last time.
Maybe it was because the recent amount of food had increased, and she enjoyed eating, but it seemed like this was all because of that time.
She wrinkled her face, wondering how much more exercise she had to do at home. Taekyung praised her for being pretty without knowing the speed, which made her feel embarrassed.
She didn’t show any reaction, feeling awkward and embarrassed. Riding in Director Han’s car to the officetel, the two sat as close as possible in the back seat.
It was still snowing. Seeing that it had diminished a bit compared to when they had dinner, it seemed like it would stop soon.
Come to think of it, they didn’t share any thoughts about the first snow while enjoying the udon.
Hiding her excited emotions, Wooyeon turned her head to look out the window. Trying not to reveal her current feelings, she casually said.
“It’s the first snow this year.”
No response came from him. Since she wasn’t facing him, she couldn’t see what expression Taekyung was making.

However, it was still palpable. From the moment she glanced out the window until now, Wooyeon could sense that Taekyung had been looking at something.
Is he smiling now?
“I know.”
With a delayed response, Taekyung held Wooyeon’s hand.
When he held hands, each finger was tightly aligned, like tightly fitted interlocking puzzle pieces. It was still the same.
Upon arriving at the officetel parking lot, the two got out of the car together. Although she assumed they would go in together, when he gestured, Director Han opened the trunk.
What Director Han took out were several paper bags with luxury logos.
Taekyung explained, “Business trip gifts.”
“…What?”
“I saw you liked it before, so I picked them according to Yoon Wooyeon’s taste. Let’s try them one by one when we meet.”

Everything that Director Han had in his hands was handed over to Wooyeon. Director Han climbed into the driver’s seat and made room.
Surprised, Wooyeon asked, “Weren’t we going together?”
“I was busy.”
“Oh.”
“In fact, I was already on a business trip to Gangwon Province and stopped by for a moment because I wanted to see Miss Yoon Wooyeon.”
“…”
“We need to go back now. It’s already late.”
Wooyeon frowned. If she had known he was this busy, she wouldn’t have emptied a whole pot.
She would have eaten a little less and hurried a bit more.
“You should have said something.”

He raised the corner of his mouth, smiling gently as he tickled Wooyeon’s cheek. While doing that, Taekyung expressed his regret with his eyes.
“I’ll be back on Sunday night. Will you be at my place then?”
“…”
“Answer.”
“…Yes.”
“Okay, then. See you that day.”
Like lovers, Taekyung kissed Wooyeon’s forehead and opened the back seat door, getting into the car.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
