No one else could have set such a sophisticated trap. Vansent silently stared at Delina, caught in his snare. Unable to move her hands, Delina also looked back at him with a tense expression. Slowly, Vansent’s lips parted.

“Delina.”

“Delina Floren. Noble daughter of House Floren, though currently living under the patronage of the Grand Duchy of Wolfirim. Nickname: Jester.”

‘Ah, I knew it.’

When he first called her “Delina,” she’d wondered if he recognized her—but no. It felt less like recognition and more like reciting researched information.
