It was the day the new emperor of the Helium Empire ascended the throne. The capital’s citizens poured into the streets to celebrate the emperor’s coronation, and festivals erupted everywhere.

The nobles gathered to witness his coronation—a moment destined to grace the pages of history. Delina sat in the best seat for viewing the ceremony, gazing toward the dais as she waited for just one person.

“His Imperial Majesty Ashud of Helium approaches!”

Soon, someone announced the emperor’s arrival, and Ashud appeared. As he stood on the dais wearing the imperial crown, the crowd erupted in cheers. Delina also stood there, watching Ashud standing tall before the multitude.

“Waaaah!”

Clad in full regalia and wearing the imperial crown, Ashud embodied the very image of a dignified emperor. Delina, gazing at him, trembled her lips with overwhelming emotion.

The square, once filled with screams and shouts, was no more. Now, only bright laughter and smiles remained among the people.

Delina shifted her gaze from Ashud to four other children nearby. These were the ones who would lead the empire alongside Emperor Ashud, all gathered in one place. A radiant smile spread across Delina’s face as she watched their steadfast backs.

At that very moment, a window appeared before Delina’s eyes.

“What? Even after all the time we’ve spent together, you’re just going to disappear like this?”

Having spent several years with it, Delina had grown fond of the window. She chuckled softly, speaking to it as if to a friend. In truth, she’d vaguely sensed this coming for days—the window had flickered each time she opened it, as if about to vanish at any moment.

Besides, peace for the Helium Empire had always been the goal, so it was well within expectation that the ability would disappear once that goal was achieved.

“It was a troublesome ability, full of complications… but still, thank you. Because of it, I made it this far.”

Delina raised a finger toward the window as it gradually faded away.

“But I’ll use it just once more—exactly one last time.”
