“Going to the clown’s room at night without permission is true.”
“…….?”
“You’re going to roll anyway.”
“Yes, I know. I came prepared for that much, and besides… If I can get Duke’s precious clown like this, I couldn’t be happier.”
Even though Noah was the one in tatters, the expressions of the two were completely opposite. While Velion glared menacingly at Noah, he spoke.
[An unyielding one who has never tried to yield to me until now. If such a person acts meekly in front of you, it must be a quite valuable sight.] Velion recalled the words Edwin had spoken with a smile before parting in the royal palace. As Edwin had mentioned, Noah now appeared much more subdued compared to before. However, Velion’s mood was not particularly good.“With the incidents at the border and in various aspects, I knew that I would not be to your liking. No, I doubt any man would catch your interest.”
Approaching Velion, Noah slowly knelt down. His face, which had always carried a hint of a smile, now looked more serious than ever.
“But I will do my best so that you won’t regret it.”
Noah’s words were short and concise, yet his eyes conveyed a determined will. Velion silently stared into Noah’s eyes, and Noah, in turn, looked up at him. That was when…
“My lord! Noah!”
The door burst open, revealing Delina. Delina, noticing Noah kneeling in tatters and Velion standing in front of him, quickly rushed to block the space between the two.
“M-My lord! No, no. There’s a huge misunderstanding. So, what happened is…”
“Seems like a side effect of the technique.”
“…Did you know?”
Upon Delina’s response, Velion let go of the sword he was holding.
“I had a rough idea.”
“Well then…”
“But we still need to settle things.”
While Velion and Delina were talking, Noah also struggled to stand up from his position. Then Delina supported him.
“Are you okay? My goodness, were you kneeling down all the way to your knees because your legs lost strength?”
“Yeah. I got more injured than I thought, so I feel weak.”
The serious expression from a moment ago was nowhere to be found, and Noah, standing next to Delina, was smiling. He swayed again and rested his head on Delina’s shoulder.
“My head hurts a bit too.”
“What? Really? Did you get hit on the head wrongly? Let me take a look. Where?”
As Delina examined Noah’s head, she looked at him worriedly. Meanwhile, she glanced at Velion.
“My lord, even if you were angry, hitting someone on the head could cause a big problem. Moreover, last night was my mistake. If you’re going to punish someone, then punish me instead…”
“I’m hurting too.”
“Where, where does it hurt?”
At Noah’s words, Delina turned her head back to look at him. Noah then pointed at his head again. Frowning, Velion extended his arm between the two who were still close.
“…”
However, Velion, seeing Delina’s worried face, didn’t say anything. Instead, he simply said, “Clown.”
“Yes?”
“I’m hurt too.”
Still standing close together, he abruptly extended his arm between them. Thus, the precarious incident in the indoor training ground concluded with Delina’s appearance.
“…So, is this not a paper but a letter?”
Afterward, Delina received a letter from Aelie that was over ten pages long, discussing the difference between “body condition” and “mindset.” As a result, she became more familiar with what “mindset” meant than anyone else.
“Now, miss! Listen carefully! All men, without exception, have common feelings hidden inside! You must always keep that in mind!”
“Even Felic?”
“Except me!”
“Oh, Felic. You just said the exact same thing to me.”
At the same time, Delina had to heed Felic’s advice, and Betty had to receive education on various aspects of relationships between men and women. Delina’s brief awkwardness with Noah happened shortly after her education with Betty.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
