Captured into the Bedroom of the Enemy Emperor (1 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 10
At the low, weighty voice, Patricia felt her body grow hot and struggled to breathe.
‘Ah, I remember that day. But can that really be called a kiss?’
She was breathless.
The Emperor lifted his left hand, which had been resting on the chair back, and grasped Patricia’s cheek. He lowered his head, his gaze fixed intently on her lips.
Even in this moment, Patricia’s heart fluttered oddly, and she prayed he wouldn’t hear the pounding of her pulse.
If that was what he called a kiss, then she couldn’t forget it either. In truth, she had recalled that moment many times and blushed each time.
“But your lips feel just like those of a princess.”
His breath touched Patricia’s lips. She kept her mouth tightly closed and held her breath.
“I’ll know for sure once I check.”
She shook her head and pulled her body back. But his hand seized the back of her head and pulled her forward.
“Your Imperial Majesty Emperor Karsik, this is hardly the time… please show some decorum.”
“Now that I think about it, perhaps we were playing a role back then on that terrace. But why?”
In any case, then as now, an indescribable sensation provoked him. The temptation was overwhelming and so stimulating it nearly drove him mad. He wanted to do something—anything.
The Emperor grabbed Patricia’s arm and lifted her to her feet. His hands swept over her shoulders and arms. Merely the tips of his fingers brushed against her, yet she felt fragile as if she might crumble and incredibly soft.
“The build and height of a young noblewoman like you match the princess exactly.”
The Emperor wrapped his arm around Patricia’s waist and pulled her close.
Patricia’s mind clouded from the deep, rich fragrance that enveloped her. His tall frame, broad and solid shoulders, and face sharply defined even in moonlight.
Beneath thick brows, a straight, refined nose; deep-set green eyes half-lidded with intensity; and lips subtly upturned at the corners despite his otherwise impassive expression—arrogance clung to them.
‘Oh no… I must have stared too long.’
Patricia, who had been frozen like one enchanted by moonlight while gazing at the Emperor’s face, barely managed to snap out of her trance and pulled his arm away from her waist.
“Don’t do this.”
“Princess, I don’t usually act like this…”
Confirm he’s not insane… Har Chen, this woman is the leader of the enemy forces who started a war and is currently your captive. She’s slain your soldiers and stained imperial soil with blood. Yet… why does she affect you like this…?
“You’re mad.”
Instinctively, the Emperor tightened his large hands. He cupped her delicate cheeks and stole a kiss. The moment Patricia gasped in surprise, something hot surged in through the gap between her parted lips.
Unaware she’d been clutching his shirt, she accepted his kiss—until their soft, yielding parts tangled, startling her into pushing hard against his broad, solid shoulders.
Her deep blue eyes, now darkened to an intense azure, locked fiercely onto his vivid green ones before she reached out and slapped his cheek.
Slap!
‘Ah… I didn’t mean to actually hit his cheek.’
Her widened eyes flashed like blue flames suddenly ignited. Shocked by her own unexpected violence, Patricia covered her mouth with both hands.
She expected him to be angry—yet the Emperor merely smiled, the corners of his lips curling upward.
Both his struck cheek and the untouched one had flushed red.
“I’m losing my mind. What’s so bloody stimulating about you?”
The Emperor swept back his black hair that had fallen over his forehead and muttered lowly.
Har Chen Eint Karl Berk. Born with the world in the palm of his hand.
True to the prophecy that he would usher in a new golden age, the Kaosan glaciers began melting that early summer when he was born. Golden fields and diamond mines emerged from beneath the ice.
At twenty-seven, the young Emperor had already established the Round Table Council as Crown Prince. He relentlessly questioned and received reports from every member of the royal cabinet until they were thoroughly exhausted.
He eradicated the raiding tribes haunting the Kaosan Mountains and borderlands, and granted nomads and the Hoon Tribe full imperial citizenship.
Immediately upon his ascension, he abolished slavery and promoted commoner talents. Three corrupt noble houses were mercilessly exterminated.
Even his mother Empress Diana’s maternal house, the Ortheo family, was ruthlessly purged of corruption until it was halved in power.
He illuminated every shadowy back alley within the empire. Coldly rational in state affairs, and sometimes arrogant.
And Patricia had just slapped that man’s cheek—twice.
The Emperor’s thick brows and deep eyes remained expressionless. His emotions unreadable.
Patricia’s insides burned with anxiety.
‘He must be furious. Go ahead—get angry. Slap my cheek if you must.’
She pursed her lips, then bit down hard on her lower lip. Unconsciously biting too fiercely, a bead of blood formed at the already parched edge of her lip.
Seeing her bite her own lip, the Emperor frowned.
This princess had an inherently troublesome habit.
She never left her lips alone. Right before the eyes of a burning, fierce beast, she fearlessly licked and bit them—unaware how intensely this teased the Emperor’s nerves.
Haah… how bold she is before me.

The Emperor groaned softly and pulled her waist tightly against him. He lowered his head as if confirming their seamless closeness, his emerald eyes boring into hers.
“Princess, since I’ve already taken a slap to the cheek, might as well go a little further, don’t you think?”
‘Go further with what… Ah!’
The Emperor tilted her head back by the nape and pressed his lips over hers. He sucked on her lips, tasting the faint sweetness of blood. His rough hand slipped under her shirt, into the front of Patricia’s blouse.
“…Huh.”
At the sound of her involuntary whimper, her lips parted on their own. The Emperor tilted his head and relentlessly explored her depths.
Patricia pounded his solid chest with her fists—boom, boom—but only her own hands hurt.
Moisture gathered naturally between their locked, pressed lips, yet her insides felt parched. Her body betrayed her rational mind and flushed hotly. Her guts burned black with heat.
Abruptly, the Emperor released his forceful grip and pulled away.
“You see? You’re lying, Princess.”
He grasped her chin. His deep green eyes swept over her furious azure eyes, pale cheeks, and red lips.
“Those lips, your breath, your sweet and sensitive insides—you can’t hide them.”
His low voice pressed against her veins, leaving a strange resonance that made her body tremble faintly.
Patricia knocked his arm away and turned her head, wiping her lips against her shoulder. Displeased by this, the Emperor cupped her cheeks again and forced her to meet his gaze.
“Look me straight in the eyes and answer. We’ve kissed before, haven’t we?”
Patricia misunderstood his question. How many women had he kissed to ask such a thing?
“What difference does it make?”
At least he wasn’t completely insane from delusions. He stroked her cheek with his fingertips and gently rubbed her swollen red lips with his index finger.
“So you weren’t affected at all, I see?”
I was quite sincere—and because of this vivid sensation still lingering on my tongue, I’ve been mad for so long.
Patricia shook her head to free her lips from his touch and spoke coldly.
“Do you always kiss fleeting women like this and then ask them if they remember?”
Fleeting… Haah. What on earth does this princess think I am?
The Emperor let out a hollow laugh and lifted her chin with his hand to lock eyes again.
Princess, it was my first time.
“Princess, to phrase that as a question—you leave me speechless.”
Patricia suddenly recalled the noble ladies gazing at him during banquets. As she remembered him, he had been a dazzling yet arrogant crown prince. Perhaps she had been mistaken for one among countless noble ladies.
Moreover, now he was the emperor of an enemy nation—and she was his prisoner.
She tried to turn her head away, but the Emperor spread his hand across her cheek. His intense green eyes pulled her in like a vortex.
“Let me go.”
“Answer me!”
‘Don’t get swept up. Stay focused, Patricia.’
Patricia pushed his body away. Freeing herself from his embrace, she clenched both fists and declared,
“Yes, we’ve kissed before. But there was nothing special about it… For me too, it was just a fleeting moment—like the wind.”
Bang!
The Emperor slammed his fist onto the table.
“So you’ve been toying with me.”
Patricia bent her knees in a bow, then turned around with a nervous heart.
“I shall take my leave now.”
“Sit. The interrogation isn’t over yet.”
“Your Majesty is enraged. Once you’ve regained your composure…”
Patricia straightened her back as properly as she could.
“I also request that you maintain proper decorum and address me respectfully.”
‘Of course… if I ever get another chance.’
She walked calmly across the reception room toward the bedroom, carefully hiding any sign of haste. Her neck stiffened.
“The princess is willful.”
Patricia heard the Emperor’s mutter behind her, but maintained her posture perfectly as she entered the bedroom.
She closed the double doors and quietly turned the lock beneath the gilded handle without making a sound.
Only then did her legs finally give out.
She dragged herself wearily to the bed and collapsed onto it. With her hands, she gathered the leather strap wrapped around her ankle, rolled it neatly to arm’s length, and stacked it in place.

Patricia slipped her hand under her pillow and felt the uniquely cold metal of a pair of scissors.
Sleep wouldn’t come easily. She reviewed her plan in her mind. To succeed, she needed to rest her body—even briefly. Yet her nerves were frayed, and her thoughts kept circling obsessively.
Her fingers moved to her lips, tracing the spot where the Emperor’s lips had touched.
The Emperor had been rough and awkward, yet his lips had been soft. His tongue, hot and dizzying as it entered and stirred within her, and his deep green eyes fixed on her with relentless intensity—her chest ached at the memory.
If only the circumstances had been different—if only the Emperor hadn’t pushed so forcefully… could she have honestly confessed her feelings when they’d met on the academy grounds?
‘Impossible. Clearly impossible.’
Patricia lay flat on her back, staring up at the ceiling.
It had been her first kiss. She couldn’t dismiss it as a passing feeling. If it had to be likened to wind, then it was a storm—wrapping her whole body and leaving wounds. But no matter what kind of wind it was, she had to cut it away with a single stroke.
Those lips, your breath, your sweet and sensitive insides—you can’t hide them.
Remembering the expression on his face when he spoke slowly in that low, quiet voice, she felt her blood vessels expand and tighten.
According to Patrick, there was a princess from the Karsik Empire who’d come with the Emperor for studies and was currently engaged in marriage talks. Could she have been one of those noble ladies who danced the waltz with him…?
‘Patricia, get a hold of yourself. Why do you even care?’
This wasn’t the time for idle daydreaming. She couldn’t afford to waste energy on emotions. Such feelings were a luxury.
Click, click.
Just then, the sound of the bedroom doorknob turning reached her ears.
‘Surely it’s not the Emperor? Has he gone mad? Is he trying to enter my room?’
She’d locked the door from inside after entering the bedroom. She was certain. After a few more clicks confirmed the door was firmly locked, the sound quieted down.
Not long after, the door connecting to the dressing room slid open with a soft rustle.
‘Huh… what?’
Patricia had no idea—even in her dreams—that the Emperor had entered her room the previous night while she slept and lain beside her in bed.
She slipped her hand under her pillow. Her fingers closed around the cold metal scissors—a tailor’s pair she’d secretly taken from the Hoon Tribe maids’ sewing basket earlier that day.
She hoped he’d only come to retrieve something. If not, she’d made a grim resolve to use the scissors.
Time passed, yet there was no sound of him approaching the bed.
She cracked her eyes open slightly. Once her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she could clearly make out his figure standing tall in the center of the dim room—it was unmistakably the Emperor.
He stood by Patricia’s bed for a moment, then walked to the foot of it, slipped off his robe with a rustle, and climbed onto the bed.
Patricia’s hand, gripping the metal scissors, grew slick with sweat.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation
One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:
To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.
But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.
It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.
This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.
Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.
Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.
“Let’s divorce!”
***
Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.
Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?
But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.
Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.
Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.
In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.
Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”
Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.
He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”
***
Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.
But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.
“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”
Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?
Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?

Re-reading this chapter, it made realize how little Patricia regarding her life compared to Patrick, all because of her guilt over her twin’s sickness which she assumed caused by her taking away his nutrition during pregnancy (in my opinion, it’s an entirely absurd superstition and baseless theory at best). Glad Patricia has come far by started relying in Harchen until she can trust him and vice versa.
Oh! Harcen made a surf board and have Patricia surfing at the sea? That’s so nice of him! If I were her, I too would be thrilled as I riding the waves.
Could it be the grave with the red hibiscus is the late Empress’ (a.k.a Patricia and Patrick’s mom) grave? Talk about cutting onion.
