Luhan visibly flustered and began glancing around nervously.

‘Luhan seems like a well-bred young man from a respectable household—could it be that he doesn’t get along with General Hades?’

Then again, considering Hades’s temperament, it was hard to imagine anyone actually getting along with him.

Luhan’s reaction made perfect sense once one recalled General Hades.

“Miss Latifa! Good heavens! I’m so relieved I found you! I thought my life was slipping away!”

Suddenly, someone called out Latifa’s name loudly from the opposite side, and she turned her head. There stood Yanan, waving her hand.

“General Hades has already returned to the private estate. He’s not here! Phew, I’m so glad I ran into you!”

“Yanan!”

The moment Latifa saw Yanan’s face, she cried out her name joyfully, as if reuniting with long-lost family.

Quickly pulling his robe around himself, Luhan leaned close to Latifa’s ear and whispered softly.

“Lati. Please keep our meeting a secret from Yanan. I beg you. We’ll… we’ll meet again someday. I swear on the Desert Guardian—it will happen.”

“Luhan?”

“Oh, until then, may the desert heat never steal your freshness.”

“Wait! I haven’t even properly thanked you yet!”

As Latifa hurriedly reached for him, he playfully winked one eye. While she hesitated, blinking in surprise, he had already vanished into the bustling crowd.
