“Ugh….”

As Latifa opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was a blurry light.

“Oh, are you conscious now?”

“This is….!”

Startled by the sudden male voice, Latifa hastily stood up and backed away, her vision not yet fully adjusted.

Before she had time to remember what happened, a man approached her and handed her a water pouch.

Only then could Latifa clearly see the man’s face in front of her.

And as soon as she saw his eyes, as black as pitch looking down at her, all her memories came flooding back.

‘That thief! I’ve been captured!’

Quickly looking around, she realized she was inside a dark tent.

The only thing she could barely make out under the dim light of an exotic lamp was the man approaching her.

“Hmph….! Do, don’t come any closer!”

Catching a glimpse of the man’s attire in the darkness, Latifa was shocked and jumped back.

The man was wearing a black robe, and she could see his dark chest bone peeking through the opening of his attire, indicating he was not wearing anything underneath.

However, the man remained indifferent to her apprehension, maintaining a nonchalant expression all along.

“You really know the desert language.”

“…..!”

“It’s water. Drink it.”

A large pouch was casually placed in front of a confused Latifa, causing her to shrink back again.

“It would be best not to think of escaping. It seems difficult for you to move with your injured leg.”

Upon hearing that, Latifa quickly looked down at her ankle. The fact that it was tightly bandaged made it evident that someone had treated her.

She felt a bit dazed. If he was just a simple thief, there was no need to treat her, was there?

“Why exactly…?”

“Rest more. We will talk in the morning.”

The man nonchalantly spoke and went back into the darkness where the lamp’s light could not reach.

It seemed like he had no intention of laying a hand on her.

Latifa stared at the water pouch in front of her, struggling to understand the situation she was in. But her confused mind refused to cooperate.

At that moment, she heard a gurgling sound, as if the man was drinking water in the darkness. This was followed by a wildsounding gulp echoing through the dark.

Hearing the sound made her realize her own extreme thirst. She couldn’t remember the last time she had gulped down cool water while constantly fleeing.

While the fear of the man remained, she couldn’t ignore her survival instincts either.

Swallowing her dry spit, she cautiously reached out for the water pouch in front of her.

“Are, are you a thief?”

Despite her vigilance, Latifa asked in a small voice towards the darkness. Then, the man’s voice came again from the darkness.

“If I say that I’m not a thief in this situation, would you believe me?”

“….No.”

His tone was a bit arrogant, but he was not wrong.

“Then there’s no need to explain unnecessarily. You’ll know everything when the day breaks, so close your eyes. The dangerous situation you’re imagining won’t happen.”

Hearing his refined pronunciation and arrogant tone, she finally recognized that it was a language used by the highranking nobles of the desert.

‘It doesn’t seem like he’s a thief from the way he speaks….’

Then who was he? A desert highranking noble? A noble enjoying a journey? What was he doing on the fallen empire land?

‘But whoever he is, the fact that he’s from the desert won’t change.’

While she hesitated to take a sip from the water pouch, the man’s voice was heard again from the darkness, seemingly observing her.
“As a proud desert dweller, I have no intention of harming you, who knows our desert language. You should rest now.”

Then the man did not speak any more. Instead, only a faint sound of breathing could be heard.

‘Who could it be.’

Latifa, filled with countless questions, cautiously opened the leather pouch. At first, she timidly sipped, but with the cool and clean water she hadn’t tasted in a while, she greedily gulped down the water, making a loud noise.

By the time she had emptied the entire pouch of water, the faint light had completely faded, and the tent was filled with darkness and silence.

Her vigilance against him also subsided for a moment.

As soon as her thirst was quenched, drowsiness hit her, and she closed her eyes right there.

Although the sudden situation was confusing, it wasn’t a bad feeling to have a comfortable bed after a long time.

In addition, the sweet fragrance wafting from the tent helped her calm her mind even more.

‘…I just wish tomorrow wouldn’t come.’

In a daze, she faintly felt like someone was covering her. But already exhausted, she was deep in sleep.

At the sound of the bird chirping cheerfully, Latifa woke up with a start.

“……!”

In the morning light, she looked around the brightly lit tent in despair.

There was a makeshift bed and desk made from chests, and a few scrolls were scattered on the floor, but overall, it was an elegant and tidy tent.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
