Latifa called out hurriedly, but Yanan had already disappeared from her sight.

“Ahh! Yanan! You left me! I’m here!”

“Move! I’m busy.”

“Excuse me, make way.”

Unable to stand still due to the unyielding crowd, Latifa found herself pushed into a desolate narrow alley.

“Darn it, I need to find Yanan!”

She knew where Yanan would go; she had mentioned going to the administration building at Gate 9.

‘Surely if I wait under its arch, something will happen.’

‘The problem is I don’t know where that is. Let’s look for the gate first.’

‘Phew. The Grand Bazaar really is a fastpaced place. It’s nothing like the empire’s capital!’

Latifa quickly pulled her robe tightly and raised her scarf to cover up to her nose, looking around.

[Dash]Caleb Gate 5

‘So this is Gate 5, then Gate 9 should be…’

Just as she was wandering around trying to find Gate 9,

“6, 7… This is the large intersection where I came with Yanan…”

And then,

Someone from behind a dark wall covered Latifa’s mouth and pulled her away helplessly.

“Right. I wasn’t mistaken! This pale skin! You must be an escaped slave from the empire!”

“Mmph! Ugh!”

A burly man quickly grabbed Latifa and mumbled to himself. No matter how much Latifa struggled, she couldn’t break free.

“It’ll fetch a good price since there’s no slave mark.”

‘He’s a kidnapper!’

Hearing the man’s mocking words, Latifa felt like the ground was collapsing beneath her. And simultaneously, the face that came to mind was none other than Hades’.
With dark skin, jetblack hair, and blazing black eyes that seemed to burn everything in sight, he always spoke in a condescending tone. He scoffed at himself and acted arrogantly as if he was above everyone else.

‘Hades General…!’

Who would have thought that in a moment of danger, she would think of the general who had crushed her country?

But for Latifa at this moment, there was no choice other than Hades.

“I thought I’d meet Hades if I came this way, but it seems we’ve missed each other.”

Luhan let out a sigh as he left the spice market management office. He had come to meet Hades but ended up wasting his time.

News that Hades was soon to hold a grand feast alongside Prow’s inauguration ceremony had spread throughout the city, but it had been a long time since Luhan had actually seen Hades.

Hearing news about his closest friend from other people didn’t exactly lift his spirits, and Luhan was in a slightly bad mood.

As bold as Hades was in conducting his affairs, he had never failed to communicate with Luhan until now.

“Prince, shall we head back to the palace immediately?”

Irgos, Luhan’s trustworthy captain of the guard, asked. Luhan shook his head.

“Since we’re out, let’s take a tour. The spice market is always bustling.”

“Make sure to pull down your robe all the way. It will be troublesome if someone recognizes you.”

“It’s not me who’ll be troubled, it’s you.”

“It’s troublesome because women keep chasing after you, my Prince.”

They both laughed heartily, and Luhan pulled down his white silk robe over his head to hide his identity.

Luhan Basili.

He was most famous in the Grand Bazaar for three reasons.

First, he was the sole prince born of the current Sultan’s legitimate queen.

Second, he was extraordinarily handsome, with soft eyelashes and a sharp nose that complemented each other harmoniously.

Third, he not only managed the affairs within the Grand Bazaar with warmth and unique wisdom but also held the reins to Hades.

If a popularity vote were conducted among the women in the Grand Bazaar, he would be in the top five at the least.

Luhan always hoped to become a wise Sultan in the future, treating both nobles and commoners with equal love and care, and his love had no discrimination.

And that standard also applied when he was dealing with women.

Although he wasn’t aware of it himself, Luhan had captured the hearts of many noble offspring and maids in the palace with his kindness and smiles.

“Does Prince Luhan not have any particular woman in his heart? If you go around captivating all the women in the country so carelessly, it will be troublesome later.”

Irgos asked Luhan, who gave an ambiguous smile in reply.

“Why wouldn’t I later welcome a beautiful and prudent princess from a noble family? Right now, the Grand Bazaar is my lover.”

Thus, the love that Luhan poured onto others was always equal, except for his closest friend, Hades.

“This intersection is always the problem. It connects Gates 5, 6, and 7, making it incredibly crowded.”

“Even if you stand still here, you’re pushed around. Despite road renovations, it always stays the same.”

Luhan and Irgos mingled with the crowd as they looked around the interior of the spice market.

However, Luhan was preoccupied, his thoughts elsewhere, worrying about Hades.

“Move out of the way!”

“Ah! Sorry!”

As Luhan momentarily lost focus, a burly man carrying a large load on his shoulder grumbled and passed by him.

“Prince, are you alright?”

The moment Irgos whispered into Luhan’s ear, Luhan caught sight of something silver flitting by him.

“…What is that?”

A busy man rushing past had a thin silver thread sticking out from the leather pouch he was carrying.
Staring blankly, Luhan observed the mysterious sheen of silver, which was too enchanting to merely be described as a woven fabric. It seemed to hold a faint, tranquil light within itself.

[Dash]Squirm.

Noticing the subtle squirming of the leather pouch, Luhan muttered to himself and stopped in his tracks.

“Wait, Irgos. That thing seemed to move, didn’t it?”

And just then, a faint aroma of blooming peony mixed with subdued jasmine and crisp cedarwood overtook the strong scent of spices that had previously numbed Luhan’s nostrils.

“Prince Luhan? Your Highness?! Where are you going?!”

Without even knowing what he was doing, Luhan sprinted after that silvery shimmer. Despite Irgos desperately calling after him from behind, Luhan did not stop.

He felt an inexplicable urgency, as if he could not afford to let whatever it was get away.

‘I need to find out what that was!’

Luhan sped through the alley and called to the man carrying the sack.

“You! You there…! Hold on for a moment!”

“What the? Who’s that? Have I been found out?!”

The moment Luhan urgently called out, the man started to run as if something had spooked him.

“Wait! Stop right there!”

Seeing the man flee, Luhan also began to run desperately.

“Damn, for a bulky guy, he sure has fast feet!”

Although the burly man managed to dodge in and out of the narrow alleys, making it difficult to follow, Luhan, familiar with the local geography, also swiftly jumped over obstacles in his path.

Male lead is a Divorced Husband

She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.

After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.

She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.

But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…

Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

――

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!

The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.

That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”

Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”

The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”

That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”

Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”

The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.

Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.

“She was originally a ‘she’!”

At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.

The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
