It was Hades who spoke as if he would not eat dinner tonight, and casually spat out tremendous words.

“Do you say you will not lead the victory parade?”

Manute confirmed with Hades once again to make sure I heard correctly.

Hades simply nodded and grabbed the camel’s reins, heading back to the front of the parade.

“But in this war, the greatest merit was earned by General Hades! If such a general doesn’t lead the parade, the morale of the Grand Bazaar’s army will fall!”

“Hmph. Since when has the Grand Bazaar been such a great country?”

Hades snorted.

“It was the empire that was defeated by mere soldiers trained to catch thieves and bandits, and hastily recruited recruits from all over the desert, looking like beggars, not because we are such a great nation.”

“The desert bloodlines are strong. We who worship the sun and flames are instinctively drawn to strength.”

“What does anyone say?”

Hades waved his hand dismissively.

“Don’t you, General Hades, play the role of flame that binds us together? O Ignite, the flame among flames, please change your mind and lead the victory parade. Then the general’s reputation will improve a little more.”

“Tsk! Annoying!”

As Manute continued to urge, Hades rebuked him as if scolding a child. At that sound, Manute was stunned, backing off, unable to say anything.

“The glory of victory is yours. Manute, you have also helped me a lot, so I must repay you. You lead the parade from the front and go straight to the royal palace.”

“How can I have such an honor…!”

Manute trailed off, but he couldn’t control his joy at the sudden opportunity for great honor, and his face brightened.

“I’m annoyed with such honor a hundred times. How is Pavail? Did you contact the palace physician of the Grand Bazaar to come to Caleb Manor right away?”

“I sent the messenger, so surely the skilled doctor is ready to obey the general’s command at any time.”

“That palace doctor should be a little more skilled.”

Hades quietly said, looking at the distant massive desert city.

“The brave heroes of the Grand Bazaar have arrived!”

A large horn and drumplaying military band, along with camel and horseriding generals, proudly entered the ancient trading nation, the Grand Bazaar.

As the generals, with finely honed scimitars stylishly strapped to their waists, waved proudly from atop their camels, the men praised them, and the women welcomed them, shaking their fragrant veils.

The soldiers, holding a polearm in one hand, marching in formation, boasted impeccable discipline.

Soldiers holding large torches even in the daytime added to the desert’s heat, and those behind them, with large peacock feathers in their hats, provided a splendid spectacle.

Some carts were loaded with treasure chests, and others were filled to the brim, the treasures spilling out because the chests could not be closed.

Among the scattered flower petals and dazzling confetti, the empire’s magnificent spoils of war continuously passed, eliciting admiration from the people of the Grand Bazaar.

Among them, what drew the most cheers from the people was undoubtedly the Golden Princess, Aris.
Aris was sitting modestly on a carriage, wearing a golden dress adorned with tiny, beautiful gems at the hem and sleeves, a sight never before seen by the desert dwellers.

“Good heavens! Look at that woman! She’s like a golden wave! Truly beautiful!”

“She was an imperial princess! We desert people have subjugated them!”

Under the shade of a fan made from redcrowned crane feathers, Aris blushed in shame as she looked at the people cheering and gazing at her.

“The mad dog of the Grand Bazaar has come back after ripping them apart.”

“But where is that mad dog? I mean General Hades!”

The mastermind, who had led the march safely from the empire to the Grand Bazaar, bringing victory and many spoils, was nowhere to be seen.

Some people did question Hades’s absence, but they soon lost themselves in pleasure as the dancers, who had come to greet the procession, started to dance.

In the bustling center of the Grand Bazaar, where the procession was in full swing, on one side of the busiest downtown, a grand and huge sand wall encircled a vast area, within which was Caleb’s private property, with tall ceilings and multiple domed roofs.

Along what seemed like an endlessly stretching white arch pillar corridor, the floors were elegantly covered with smooth marble.

Dozens of people were running barefoot on that white marble, and all of them were servants working at Caleb’s private property.

“Hades ordered the entire western wing to be vacated. Why did he return to the mansion instead of going straight to the palace?”

“He brought a woman!”

“Now’s not the time to talk about that! You know Hades’s personality! We must prepare everything perfectly!”

“Tapestries, carpets, cushions, silk curtains, fragrant oil lamps, copper kettles, and don’t forget to fill the water pipes. Remember, if everything’s not prepared perfectly, we’ll be in big trouble!”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)

A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage

Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.

In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.

As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.

Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.

She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.

“Brother, come home with me.”
