“No matter how great your worries are, nothing is bigger than this desert, so don’t worry and bury everything.”

Leaning against his body, the tension in her body slowly began to ease. Latifa just stared blankly at the surreal desert spread out before her.

The truly endless desert that stretched beyond the horizon was so vast that it swallowed up all of Latifa’s fears, giving her a surreal feeling that she had really let everything go.

She was surprisingly calm, taking slow breaths as the warm wind filled with the smell of sand and jasmine gently caressed her silver hair, welcoming her into the desert.

A white dust storm blew over the dark desert ground.

‘It’s cold…….’

During the day, she would sweat and suffocate from the heat just standing still, but the night was surprisingly chilly.

Hades silently wrapped a leather blanket around her trembling back. But the reason Latifa was shivering was not just the cold.

The culprit was right there, nonchalantly reading a scroll Hades Caleb Ignite.

‘It’s all General Hades’ fault that I ended up like this!’

If General Hades had just left her with the refugees from the beginning, Brenda wouldn’t have done such terrible things to her.

His strange obsession eventually led to this disaster.

According to Hades, a woman named Brenda showed Hades’ bracelet to the soldiers as evidence that Latifa was Hades’ woman, even leaving the bracelet as proof.

Latifa’s heart chilled at Hades’ words that if she hadn’t had the bracelet, she might have been immediately killed by the soldiers as a stowaway.
“Brenda?”

“Well, she’s fine.”

Feeling the dizziness washing over her again after hearing Hades’ vague response, Latifa leaned her head against the leather wall of the tent and closed her eyes.

‘What kind of drug did Brenda give me? My head feels like it’s going to break….’

Latifa was wrapped in her shawl, thinking about the Grand Bazaar. But it was all too vague.

The great distance and vastly different climate. And, due to the enormous cultural differences, the Grand Bazaar was almost like an unknown world within the empire.

‘I clearly remember calling it a marketplace.’

The Grand Bazaar was different from the Tania Empire, which ruled its territories with a strong monarchic grip.

Originally meaning ‘great marketplace’, the Grand Bazaar was something like an artificial nation, built upon desert tribes.

Nomads and settlers had paved the way, creating a trade center in the middle of the desert that had over time become a bustling and complex metropolis known as the Grand Bazaar.

‘There is a leader called a Sultan, not an Emperor. Hades has mentioned the Sultan occasionally.’

Although she knew some of their culture from the books she had read while studying the desert language, the knowledge she had gained from books differed from reality.

‘How am I going to survive there….’

In the midst of despairing at her dark and uncertain future, she opened her eyes wide when Hades lifted her into his arms.

Their eyes met, and they both paused at the sight of his black pupils.

“I thought you were asleep and was going to move you.”

“……”

“The sandstorm is getting worse, so I was thinking of closing the door. I’ll keep it open if you want, though.”

With difficulty, she shook her head to convey that it wasn’t necessary, and he lowered the leather shade with one hand. The small lamp that lit the tent flickered in the wind.

The strong and majestic man’s arms effortlessly lifted her, laying her down on a pile of silk blankets arranged on the other side of his bed.

Before, she had been terrified and tense even at his touch, but now she had had so many surprises that his embrace didn’t bother her at all.

‘Humans are animals of adaptation, after all….’

As she stared at Hades putting her down, he asked,

“Are you scared?”

“……”

“The Grand Bazaar is not a place to fear.”

To you, perhaps.

With a defiant look, she turned her face into the blanket. But Hades did not return to his place; instead, he sat beside her.

“It’s not as desolate as the middle of the desert.”

“……”

“It’s hot, but it’s also an intense place. The streets are filled with rare items unheard and unseen. I guarantee, various merchants will visit every day and captivate your senses.”

Hades’ words painted the scenery of the marketplace in her dark mind. Would there be firebreathing men and dancing knifethrowers like she had seen in books? Crocodiles? Elephants?

“In the morning, the scent of acacia honey fills the air, and in the evening, the aroma of cumininfused stew wafts about. Men compete for strength in front of flowersprinkling women, and children line up for shadow plays.”

Colors began to fill her previously dark and sandy mind.

“That place is a land of opportunity. Where yesterday’s beggar can become today’s tycoon. That is the Grand Bazaar.”

“……”

“There is something I would like you to do there.”

“What? What do you want me to do?”

No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t figure out what she could do. She didn’t understand why he was so persistently offering her a job instead of someone else.
“I know your secret.”

“……?”

“So Latifa. Become my Frau and let’s go to the Grand Bazaar.”

Frau? What’s that?

A soft blanket was draped over her lying body. It was silk, and so soft that it was incomparable to the blankets in the Empire.

“I will bestow upon you the highest honor and wealth.”

“Hmm.”

As she surrendered to the softness of the blanket, Hades’ voice started to sound faint. She felt Hades touching the ends of her hair in her drowsy state but was too sleepy to push it away.

“Let’s enchant everyone at the Grand Bazaar under this moonlight.”

“……Hmm.”

“We are making Luhan the next Sultan.”

Hades kept mumbling something, but Latifa had already fallen asleep and couldn’t hear anything.

On the opposite side of the procession, Brenda, bound with ropes, was struggling and howling.

“What do you intend to do with this woman?”

A soldier asked expressionlessly, looking at Hades.

“Her crimes are grave. She deserved death, but I spared her life looking at her face…….”

“Do you want me to take care of her?”

As the soldier reached for his sword, Brenda struggled even more violently.

“Not yet.”

“Not yet?”

“Her condition is worse than I thought. If she can’t endure, then kill her then.”

“Understood.”

Despite Hades’ harsh reply, the soldier respectfully bowed his head in response.

“She must learn to serve her superiors until then. There’s a perfect place for that greedy woman.”

Hades picked a spot as he glanced over a scroll. It was a list of the Empire’s spoils to be presented to the Sultan.

[Dash]Empire’s 3rd Princess, Aris Delbrun Tania.

“This princess was known for her excessive luxury and greed, wasn’t she? Where is she now?”

“She’s under special care in the 10th army. Because she’s a prisoner to be presented to the Sultan, we are keeping strict watch.”

“Put that woman in there with her. When she sees the fallen princess, she’ll realize how fortunate her indulgence has been.”

“Yes, General!”

As Hades was about to return to his tent after finishing his duty, he paused and turned his head.

“Do you have anything else to command?”

“Before sending the prisoner princess, tear that woman’s hair five times, no, ten times.”

“Yes?”

Hades sharply narrowed his eyes as he spoke.

“I don’t like repeating myself.”

“Ah, yes! I will tear her hair ten times!”

“Then work hard. May the guardians bless you.”

“May the guardians bless you too, General!”

As Hades walked out leisurely, the sound of a pig being slaughtered began to ring loudly from behind.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
