[Dashi] Polygon, polygon.

Numerous warriors of the desert were passing through a vast coniferous forest. Leading the long column of troops was a large black horse, atop which Hades and Latifa were riding.

Several hours into the silent march, Latifa was sweating profusely from tension, largely due to Hades sitting directly behind her.

“Hey.”

“……!”

Startled by Hades calling out to her from behind, Latifa tightened her grip on the saddle. She was still uncomfortable with the man’s breath touching her from behind. In fact, she felt she would never get used to it in her lifetime.

“No matter how much I think about it, it’s strange.”

“……What is?”

“That hunting dog from before.”

‘Why does he keep obsessing over that incident?’

Worried about revealing her ability to communicate with animals, Latifa nervously held her breath.

“It was quite a welltrained dog. I’ve trained hunting dogs before, after all.”

“……And so?”

“Just that.”

With that, Hades abruptly ended the conversation. Relieved by the anticlimactic conclusion, Latifa cautiously exhaled.

“There really is something.”

“Pardon?”

“Nothing. But do you know where we are heading?”

“You said we’re heading to a neutral country? If it’s near the desert, then perhaps, the Sort Exchange….”

As Latifa saw it, if the desert people were returning to the desert after stopping by a neutral country, the only place that bordered the desert and where many small kingdoms gathered was the Sort Exchange.

“Yes. We are heading to the Sort Exchange. I’ve made deals with the countries there.”

“……As a condition for taking us in?”

“I thought the imperials were generally stupid, but apparently not.”

‘Only the Emperor in the Empire must have been the stupid one.’

With a bitter heart, Latifa bit her dry lips.

“I’ve agreed to buy all the food and supplies needed to cross the desert there. It’s quite costly. In exchange, they agreed to take in the prisoners.”

“……Why would you go to such lengths?”

Why are they acting so noble now, after crushing her home country?

Latifa felt disgusted with the seemingly hypocritical actions of the desert people.

“We desert people don’t covet what isn’t ours, unlike some. Remember, it was the Empire who first violated us.”

Hades spoke dispassionately. There was no fault in his words. Therefore, she had nothing to say in return and was left only with growing confusion about how to react to him.

“Anyway, I don’t want to spend a lot of time at the Sort Exchange.”

“…….”

“That’s why I need you.”

“……Me? You need me?”

Surprised by a phrase she had never heard before, Latifa could only stare blankly. She was needed. Perhaps, for the first time in her life, she was told that she was necessary.

Her heart, which had just calmed down, began to race again.

‘I’m needed? Why?’

“We’ll make a deal. I want to buy your ability.”

“Ability?”

“Don’t you speak fluent desert language? Can’t you read and write?”

“I, I can’t write.”

“Good. There’s no need to write. Just to read the records and transfer the prisoners is enough if you can speak.”

‘Ah, he wants an interpreter.’

Latifa understood the situation. Only then did her beating heart slightly calm down, and her frozen hands and feet gradually thawed.

The Empire and the desert had hardly any official interaction due to the considerable distance between them.

There were many small countries between them, and the Empire itself tended to disregard the desert people as uncivilized, so the desert language was not worth learning.

That’s why she had a hard time learning the desert language herself.
“It was really hard. I wouldn’t have thought of learning if it wasn’t for that book. I was reading a book in the wide imperial library, not knowing how time was passing.”

“Translating the desert language into local dialects, and then that local dialect into the language of the small country, and then translating that again into the imperial language, is causing a lot of time to be delayed.”

‘I guess interpretation was much more troublesome than I thought.’

“Are there no desert people who can speak the imperial language?”

“There are few. Because it takes a lot of time to learn a language.”

Latifa nodded compliantly. There was no particular reason to refuse such a thing. Moreover, what could she hesitate at the thought of contributing to safely relocating the imperial people to a third country?

“Okay.”

“……Sigh.”

However, Hades sighed as if something about Latifa’s positive attitude didn’t sit right with him.

“Hmm. A personality that is just right to get scammed at the Grand Bazaar.”

“What?”

At Hades’ sarcastic tone, Latifa scrunched her face. She couldn’t understand why he was picking a fight when she was simply agreeing to interpret.

“I said we would trade.”

“There is no need to trade. It’s a good thing for me to hand over the imperial people anyway.”

She was a prisoner and not in a position to trade. Was there a need to use such a grandiose word as ‘trade’, when she should just do what Hades asked?

Male lead is a clingy little husband

One-line summary: The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

Introduction:

One day, Lu Yuner’s soul transmigrates into a female-dominant world. She enters the Imperial Academy and takes up the position of a doctoral instructor, teaching classes and grading schoolwork.

One day, she encounters the young prince Su Qingwan secretly skipping class from the male academy.

As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.

From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.

But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.

Mini scene 1:

One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.

Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”

Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”

Mini scene 2:

After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.

Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”

Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.

[Reading Guide]

1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
