“Well… I’ll only go for today then.”

Asti puffed up her cheeks, wrapped a white cowhide wallet containing charcoal, a pencil, paper, or books around her back, and continued, “Since Tatkan is coming with me, I won’t be lonely. Making friends can be fun. Maybe we’ll find a friend to make clothes with.”

Ratifa, even when she was a princess, had no one to play with since she deliberately avoided associating with any nobles to avoid getting involved in the court disputes. Nevertheless, she was familiar with the loneliness of the princess who isolated herself.

‘If I had a girl my age, the gloomy palace might have been somewhat bearable. Princess Asti needs a friend of her age too.’

Invited to afternoon tea parties and dance parties, wearing glamorous dresses and swarming into the palace to have fun with some charming young nobles—how envious the noble children’s lives were, gossiping about what interesting book they read, where the tasty dessert was, and how handsome some young lord was.

As you age, making friends becomes even more challenging. Ratifa didn’t want Asti to experience such loneliness.

“Only the morning class today! I’m going to skip the afternoon class! Got it? Did you understand what I said?!”

Asti assured her maids she wouldn’t attend the afternoon class while shaking hands with Ratifa, and they headed towards Madrasa.

‘Tatkan, I trust only you. Do you remember what you told me yesterday?’

“I’m not a birdbrain.”

Tatkan’s white tail fluttered, and he followed Asti.

“Phew, you did well. The princess’s stubbornness knows no bounds, doesn’t it?”

The maids accompanying Asti praised Ratifa.

“Please return to the palace first. I’ll be here watching, in case Princess Asti comes out unexpectedly.”

“Oh, thank you! Princess should finish her class without any trouble. We’re afraid of Lady Eunsa from Madrasa when she’s angry.”

When Ratifa volunteered to stay behind, the maids rushed to the kitchen, saying they should at least prepare some snacks for the princess.
Under the leather awning at the entrance of Madrasa, Ratifa sat crouched on the ground next to a rock, where fine white sand was spread, for quite some time.

Beyond the window sill, the sound of the Madrasa’s literacy teacher reading a dull book could be heard, and Ratifa unknowingly nodded off.

‘This is really boring. No wonder the princess hates studying.’

Ratifa had never systematically learned the desert language, so while she could read and speak, she lacked confidence in spelling and grammar.

[Dash]17 Princess, your learning speed is truly impressive!

Hearing the sound of studying the desert language, she suddenly remembered a compliment from someone at the edge of distant memories. It was someone who helped her study the desert language in the imperial library. He was a young man with clear and intelligent eyes.

If someone were to ask Ratifa who her first love from her faint memories was, she might not know the name of that young man. Although she didn’t feel any romantic fluttering for him back then, Ratifa was captivated by the reliable situation where someone was helping her.

Perhaps, she had studied the desert language even harder to hear more praise from him. He had even obtained a desert language dictionary for her. He somehow knew the pronunciation of an unknown language and taught it to her.

‘R.P… I hope he’s still alive.’

As Ratifa was reminiscing about her memories in the imperial library, the clear sound of a bronze bell rang, indicating the end of the first class and the beginning of break time.

Simultaneously with the bell, Tatkan’s large and beautiful voice echoed through the window.

“You there!”

‘Ah, here it goes!’

Ratifa held her breath, listening intently to Tatkan’s voice from below the window.

“You brave souls! Do you know about the heroic Harcept and the beautiful martial artist Suriya? Do you know about their fourth journey, unknown to anyone since the third journey? Asti Princess’s Fraulein, the storyteller Tatkan, is here to share their journey.”

“What? What story is this?”

“Is it about the aftermath of the Hero Harcept’s battle?”

“Does the princess know about the aftermath?”

With a bit of murmuring from the girls, the surroundings began to quiet down.

Tatkan started unfolding the story of Hero Harcept’s journey as Ratifa had told him the night before, adding some embellishments and presenting it exceptionally well.

‘Manut said it clearly. No one knows the plot after the third book. Whether what I know is really written by the author of that book, I don’t know, but it’s certainly interesting. The children will be captivated.’

“For Suriya, kidnapped and practicing swordsmanship day and night to rescue her. Calypso, protect them.”

Break time was 10 minutes.

During those 10 minutes, Tatkan continued the story without forgetting it or missing any details. Perhaps it was the little clever bird or his passion for Asti, but he passionately brought the story to life.

Having read Hero Harcept’s tale dozens or even hundreds of times, Ratifa had endured days and nights of excitement with the heartbreaking love and adventurous story.

When Ratifa raised her head to peek out of the window, the girls were not just captivated; they had gathered like clouds to listen to the story, even Asti.

[Dash]Ding, ding.

When the bell announcing the end of break time rang, Tatkan abruptly stopped the story.

“The next story will be in the next break!”

“Aw, where is that!”

“Princess Asti, please ask him to continue!”

“Is this really about the unknown fourth book?! Does the princess really know the whole Heroic Tale?! Amazing!”

The people of the desert, young and old, all found Hero Harcept’s tale entertaining, and because nobody knew the end, they cried, “Woo,” it was the Hero Harcept’s tale.
“I know the end of that.”

Ratifa chuckled, looking at Asti contentedly. She blushed as being surrounded by friends seemed unfamiliar to her.

However, her friends were chatting cheerfully, as if being surrounded by them and receiving kind words first was exciting.

It might be busy to continue telling the remaining story today and tomorrow, but seeing such a pretty sight, what more could she ask for?

“My Fraulein! It’s the joy of the owner! Tatkan, will you tell it again in the next class for the princess?!”

“Anything for the princess.”

Tatkan said, scratching his head with his raised leg.

In the end, Asti ate lunch at Madrasa that day, attended all the afternoon classes, and confidently walked out on her own.

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.

On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.

Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.

News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.

Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.

But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.

The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.

The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”

So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.

She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.

After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.

Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.

Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.

She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.

“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
