But Suhel stubbornly insisted on accompanying her, claiming it was impossible for her to go alone.

“You don’t even know the area well. More than anything, I’d worry if I let you go by yourself.”

Hearing him say such things with a perfectly calm expression left Ivenel utterly unable to adjust. Still, she tried her best to maintain composure.

Otherwise, she feared she’d completely break down in front of him and reveal all her feelings.

She needed time alone, away from Suhel, to sort out her thoughts.

“I’m perfectly capable on my own. I’ll return before it gets late. Absolutely do not follow me.”

After delivering this final plea, Ivenel disappeared into the crowd, leaving the group behind.

Suhel could only watch as she walked away, her hood pulled low over her face—but his gaze remained as gentle as ever.
