Evenel hesitated in the sudden situation before finally speaking.

“Th-thank you.”

Despite her words, Shuher did not release his arm wrapped around her waist and continued the conversation as if nothing had happened.

“What were you trying to say?”

“Well, my gun broke while fighting with the monster. I thought I should tell you.”

“I’ll prepare a new one.”

It wasn’t a problem for Shuher. Preparing another gun would be fine. Encounters with monsters often led to such situations anyway.

“You can let go now.”

Evenel found herself avoiding his eyes, as she could feel his breath at this close distance. Before she knew it, his warm body heat had enveloped her, replacing the cold night air.

“You’re too close.”

With a complicated look in his eyes, Shuher obediently let go of her waist. It was clear that he was somewhat intoxicated. For a fleeting moment, he wondered why he didn’t want to let go.

“Huh? A star just fell.”

As if it was the beginning, multiple meteors adorned the night sky beautifully. Seeing this spectacle for the first time, Evenel couldn’t take her eyes off it.

“It’s so beautiful.”

Seeing her childlike delight, Shuher also turned his gaze towards the night sky. The two stood there for a while, watching the beautiful scene.

Early in the morning, Evenel completed her preparations to return to the royal palace and stepped outside. Fortunately, she had been provided with a change of clothes at the Count of Ferti’s residence.

She approached a group of knights who were also preparing to depart and casually greeted them.

“Good morning.”

She had thought there wouldn’t be a reply, but–

“Good … morning.”

One by one, greetings started coming in, and she looked at them in astonishment, wondering if she had heard correctly.

The atmosphere was somewhat awkward, so everyone subtly averted their eyes. Then, Demil approached Evenel.

“Why are you like this?”

“I’m confused if I heard correctly.”

“You did. I heard it too.”

Demil had witnessed the situation from the beginning, affirming that she hadn’t misheard.

Evenel was simply taken aback. These were people who had always ignored whatever she said. The recent expedition seemed to have had a significant impact.

It was even moving to think that they saw her as one of their own, even if just a little. It felt like proof that her efforts had not been in vain.

‘It was hard, but I’m glad I came here.’
At that time, Shuher, Lenel, and Hivru gathered together to see him off.

“Send a letter immediately if anything happens.”

“Yes, Your Majesty. I received a lot of help this time. Thank you very much.”

Watching Lenel bow respectfully, Shuher said something he would never normally say.

“The one who should be thankful is me, for continuing to protect Karies from this position.”

Lenel looked up at Shuher, her green eyes full of surprise. It was a phrase she had never heard from him before.

At the same time, the numerous hardships she had endured came to mind, and her heart swelled for a moment. She was a person, after all, and there were times when she was tired. She just didn’t show it outwardly.

But with one sentence from Shuher, she felt like all of that had been washed away.

“I will continue to rely on you.”

Managing her heightened emotions, Lenel voiced her resolve.

“…I will protect Karies even if it costs me my life.”

Evenel was watching the two conversing, when suddenly Lenel stepped forward. She then bowed her head respectfully toward her.

“I’d like to apologize for the rudeness I showed you before. I received a lot of help this time. As a member of Count Ferti’s household, I’d like to express my gratitude.”

Initially unsure how to react, Evenel felt his sincerity and expressed her own gratitude.

“Thank you for saying that. And I’d also like to express my gratitude to Hivru. I’ve gained invaluable experience here. I’ll definitely keep your words in mind, Count.”

Lenel couldn’t deny the impact Evenel had had, completely overturning her own thoughts. It was her complete defeat.

“Then I’ll take my leave.”

Evenel noticed a carriage that hadn’t been there when they first arrived.

Judging by the emblem, it appeared to belong to Count Ferti’s household. However, what puzzled her was why the carriage was there in the first place.

The answer to that question came from Shuher.

“We’ll take the carriage on the way back.”

“What? But it will take longer if we take the carriage.”

Since the carriage couldn’t travel on narrow mountain paths, they would inevitably have to take a detour, which would take more time than riding horses.

“We’re not in a rush. Besides, we’re tired from subjugation.”

“Oh, I see.”

“Get in.”

“Me too?”

Evenel was surprised to ask. She had assumed that he would go alone.

“Your wound hasn’t healed yet, has it?”
“Did you prepare this for me?”

“It’s just so you don’t get left behind alone and become a nuisance.”

She had asked, but she thought it absurd that Shuher would make such considerations for her.

‘Still, it’s a relief.’

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
