“Treat her the same as the other maids here. Praise her if she does well, scold her if she does not, and teach her if she does not know. Of course, Emil will do better even if I don’t say so.”

“Yes…….”

Emil could only respond like that to the completely unexpected words.

‘This is enough for now.’

Evenel wanted to hear that one word.

She did not want anything else. But at least she wanted Lia to be accepted as she was.

“Thank you, Emil.”

Emil looked into her sincere eyes and bowed his head respectfully before leaving the room. But his flustered feeling did not easily dissipate.

Before meeting Evenel, he had some expectations of what he would see.

Whether she was anxious, cowed, or even arrogant, exploiting her abilities. But she defied all those possibilities.

What surprised him the most was the words she brought up at the end for Lia. Her concern for a maid rather than her own safety was extremely unexpected.

“Is she such a precious person?”

Emil, who was standing alone in the place, recalled the short conversation he had with Shuher before meeting Evenel.

[“You mean to keep an eye on her.”] [“Yes, just watch her. That’s all a steward needs to do.”]

She understood his intention in an instant. Not to interfere or intervene with Evenel, no matter what happened to her.

Emil couldn’t deny it. Wasn’t Evenel a person from Aodin? That reason alone was sufficient.

‘She will probably find out painfully while she is here.’

How terrifying it is to experience the hostility that he had only heard of in rumors.

(This is a time separator.)

After the meeting with Evenel, Shuher immediately convened a noble meeting. Looking at the nobles who filled the long table, he calmly opened his mouth.

She had awakened her abilities, decided to stay in the palace, and promised to help.

Those who had only heard a rough account of the situation could not hide their astonishment. Soon, their reactions divided into two parts.

The position to utilize Evenel’s abilities, and the position to eliminate the drawback even now, without needing to do so.

In terms of atmosphere, the latter was much more prevalent.

“We already have some system in place. There’s no need to take help.”

“We don’t know what they will demand from Aodin using this as an excuse. Or maybe they are secretly passing information to Karies.”

“Even if we put all that aside, we cannot have a person from Aodin, especially the noble lady of the Istella Duke’s family, in the royal palace. If we kill her despite her abilities, we can firmly implement our intentions.”
Shuher was simply listening to the stories exchanged by the nobles. His face was filled with boredom, unlike when he was with Evenel.

Just like a person waiting for this dispute to end.

Then a voice of opposition was heard.

“Perhaps it would be better to make proper use of Aodin’s people. It wouldn’t be bad for us if we put them at the forefront when facing the demons. Aren’t there still endless damages caused by the demons?”

“Aren’t each of the empowered families protecting? That’s their duty.”

Shuher’s expression gradually grew cold at those last words. It looked like nothing more than passing on an annoying task in the name of duty.

‘All they do is blabber, yet they make their words so flowery.’

The ones actually babbling about this matter had no direct connection with the demons. The people of the empowered families couldn’t leave their territories as they had to monitor the movements of the demons.

He had already informed them of Evenel’s situation one step ahead and had received a reply in accordance with his will.

The ones actually risking their lives fighting the demons were elsewhere, and it was just ridiculous that they were thinking only of their own dignity.

“It seems you are all profoundly mistaken. This place is for informing, not for seeking permission. If any of you had ever faced the demons directly, the conversation would have been different. If you wish, I’ll allow you to experience it firsthand.”

The hall fell into silence for a moment at the voice devoid of highs or lows. The nobles belatedly gauged Shuher’s mood.

Then someone broke through the heavy atmosphere and opened their mouth.

“How could that be? I think it should be done for the sake of Karies.”

The man was none other than Duke Hallan Jeizen. As he stirred the waters, one by one they shifted their stance in agreement.

Then Hallan said, as if struck by a good idea.

“Weren’t you going to lead a group of knights to subdue the demons in Ferti territory in a week’s time? How about taking them there, Your Majesty? It will be an opportunity to see if they will really help.”

Shuher stared at him and nodded. He had been thinking the same thing anyway.

“If it becomes a force for us, it’s something to welcome. You all feel the same, don’t you?”

“Yes.”

Thus, the meeting ended, and as Shuher left the conference room with Demil, the nobles approached Hallan in groups.

“Can we just leave this as it is?”

“Honestly, how much help will it be? It’s certain they’ll run away scared. It’s a place where the demons roam.”

“Isn’t that why you brought it up first?”

They all waited for Hallan to speak, as if it were obvious.

Ever since Aodin’s betrayal and Karies had to fight the demons on its own, the position of the empowered families naturally grew more prominent.

They were revered as heroes here, receiving the admiration of the people.

But gratitude for protecting them from the threat of the demons was shortlived, and as their fame grew, the families that were not empowered felt threatened.

Their status diminished, and fearing they might even lose their power,

They banded together, and at the center of it all was Duke Hallan Jeizen.

‘Of all times, to awaken her abilities now.’

From Hallan’s point of view, the sudden appearance of Evenel was far from welcome.

If she joined the empowered families and defeated more demons, it wouldn’t be good for them.

“How about trying to pull her to our side?”

“Let’s wait and see for that. We can decide after seeing if she’s useful or not.”

Contrary to Evenel’s wishes, she was already at the center of all the commotion.

Cold Male Lead Became My Clingy Husband (Female-Dominant)

Feng Bai Su transmigrated into a matriarchal novel, becoming the sister of the female protagonist and the Seventh Princess of the Feng Ling Kingdom.

After working herself to death in her previous life, finally reincarnating as a princess, she only wanted to be a lazy fish who could eat, sleep, and play.

Until she met the male protagonist from the book, Wei Jing Mo, and he took a liking to her!

Wei Jing Mo is the top young man in Feng Ling City, talented in both appearance and ability, from a prestigious family, with a cold and otherworldly appearance, a figure like the bright moon in the hearts of noble ladies. It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”

A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
