Da Hee was waiting nervously, her face tense just before the final executive interview.

In the waiting room, three candidates awaiting their turn were each reviewing interview materials they’d prepared. Da Hee checked her compact mirror to ensure her makeup wasn’t smudged and adjusted her outfit.

‘So only one person gets in from here, huh?’

Unlike the other desperate-looking candidates, Da Hee wasn’t particularly desperate. After hearing she’d passed the second interview, she’d agonized until the last minute over whether even to come.

It was because of Seung Won.

After learning that Seung Won and Hye Ju’s relationship had completely ended, she’d allowed herself to hope.

‘Could there still be a chance for me? It doesn’t have to be right now. If Seung Won’s spot is empty, maybe I can come back someday?’

Just because Seung Won couldn’t remember didn’t mean the night they’d spent together never happened. After that intense, desperate night, Da Hee had desperately wished for some kind of progress.

But Seung Won gave no signal at all. If anything, he seemed to be avoiding her.

‘Ugh… If I get in, I guess I’ll just change jobs. What else can I do? If there’s no reaction even after I went this far, it must mean his heart’s already moved on.’

Da Hee let out a deep sigh and half-heartedly flipped through her interview notes.

Her materials were densely filled with notes she’d taken during recent meetings—the very project Hye Ju had led regarding Tae Yang Foods.

There was only one reason Da Hee prepared this.

Because she had nothing else to offer.
