When Joo Won saw Hye Ju’s back, standing stiffly in front of the office, he was glad.

‘It’s not like folding paper—how can your heart get folded so tightly? Fine, whatever. I’ll take it. No need to force yourself over nothing.’

His lips had gone dry as he kept silently rehearsing what he’d prepared as his confession. His heart pounded the moment the elevator doors opened and he saw Hye Ju’s back.

“Oh Hye…!”

But he couldn’t take even a single step forward. The way she stood alone in the dim hallway looked strange to anyone who saw her.

Though her face wasn’t visible, her flustered state was obvious even from behind—her shoulders frozen, as if she couldn’t even breathe properly.

‘What’s she doing there?’

Joo Won glanced past Hye Ju’s shoulder.

“!”

A chill ran down his spine the instant he saw the silhouettes tangled together inside the office.

Witnessing his grown-up little sister’s love affair wasn’t exactly rare—annoying, sure, but not utterly shocking. The problem was the emotion emanating from Hye Ju’s back as she watched the scene.

It wasn’t just embarrassment from seeing something unpleasant. It felt like a deep, intense emotional wave radiating from her.

She stood frozen, as if she’d just encountered something she never wanted to see—yet couldn’t tear her eyes away, staring helplessly.

Standing right where that unstable emotion was directed was Seung Won.

At first, Joo Won couldn’t immediately grasp what was happening. If you caught two close friends making out in the office, wouldn’t you normally pretend not to notice or call them out directly? This wasn’t something to stand there staring at with such a grave expression.
