A police officer with a tired complexion asked when he saw the two.
“We reported an issue with malicious comments about a restaurant.”
The officer who was responsible for them quickly stood up.
It seemed he had heard something from higher-ups before, as he was unexpectedly quick and nimble.
“I was about to contact you. I checked the CCTV at the motel where the person who ordered the food stayed. However, since it’s been quite a while, there’s no record left.”
“Are you saying you couldn’t find the culprit?”
“To be precise, yes.”
Hyeju barely suppressed the rage rising inside her.
Sookcheol reported to the police over a month ago.
“At that time, if we had started the investigation right away, there might have been CCTV evidence left. Because they treated it as a non-essential case and conducted a lukewarm investigation, this is the result!”
Seeing Hyeju’s red and blue expression, the police quickly added, “Fortunately, it wasn’t entirely without success. Do you remember the ID that left comments on the restaurant reviews? We found the owner of that ID! They are probably on their way here now…”

“What’s the person’s name?”
“Name? Just a moment. Ah, here it is. Park Sohee.”
“Park Sohee?”
Juwon gestured as if asking if he knew the name.
Hyeju immediately shook her head. Without much thought, it was a name she had never heard before.
Just then, a student with a slightly disheveled appearance entered the police station.
Wide pants, a loose-fitting T-shirt, round glasses with white lenses, and a familiar tangle of earphones were somehow recognizable.
“He probably spent a hundred thousand won until a moment ago, sitting in front of the computer.”
Hyeju, recalling the times when Suwon, obsessed with games, roamed around like that, sighed softly.
“Even if you dress like a middle school student, why would he come to the police station?”

Luckily, the lunch she had hastily eaten before driving wasn’t in vain.
Hyeju, who drove almost as if she was in a hurry, arrived at the police station safely.
“What brings you here?”
A police officer with a tired complexion asked when he saw the two.

“To be precise, yes.”
Hyeju barely suppressed the rage rising inside her.
Sookcheol reported to the police over a month ago.
When Sohee’s cheek turned bright red, the police finally managed to separate the two.
Hyeju urged Sohee to present anything that could be evidence, but there was no significant income. They couldn’t obtain any information about the other party in the open chat, and even during cash transactions, they didn’t meet face-to-face.
Since selling the ID for money didn’t lead to a criminal charge, Sohee left as it was.
Despite coming all the way to the police station with no gain, Hyeju couldn’t contain her anger.
“Ugh, seriously! A little middle schooler, not knowing how scary the world is, selling IDs! It’s the end of the world, the end!”
“Whoa, Oh Hyeju, calm down.”
“How can I calm down? I thought reporting to the police today would catch the culprit. What is this, seriously.”
“But it’s not like we got nothing.”

Hyeju glanced at the crumpled paper Juwon handed her.
On a small note, Sohee’s sold ID and password were written.
“What can we do with this?”
“You’ll see when you check.”
Juwon comforted Hyeju, saying there is no perfect crime in today’s world.
“Definitely catch them. Don’t worry.”
Hyeju felt a bit embarrassed by Juwon’s calm and composed response.
‘I couldn’t control my momentary emotions and pinched the cheek of a middle schooler I just met…’
Regret came too late, like spilled water.
Above all, what troubled her was the fact that the person who bought the ID from Sohee might be Dahee.

‘Did Dahee really do that?’
She might have. No, it’s highly likely.
It’s okay not to be friends. It’s impossible to live without seeing each other for a lifetime. Still, isn’t there a limit to fighting until one of us dies?
Still, you and I were once friends.
In the already finished relationship, there was no lingering affection. Hyeju hoped Dahee felt the same way. If they could walk different paths without knowing each other, that would be good.
‘But why do you keep bothering me? If you come out like that, I feel like I want to crush you.’
Thinking of Dahee, her grip on the steering wheel tightened.
Juwon, looking at Hyeju’s heavy expression, glanced at the blue traffic light and asked casually, “What do you want to do now?”
“I want to eat something as spicy as setting my tongue on fire and sleep without thinking about anything.”
“Let’s do that.”

Juwon called Sujeol on Hyeju’s phone.
“I’m going to Seoul now.”
As the dial tone started ringing, Hyeju opened her eyes wide.
“Are we going to eat in Seoul?”
[Dash] Hello?Beyond the phone, Sujeol’s voice could be heard.
Juwon smiled and scribbled something on the back of the paper with Sohee’s ID.
[No. You’re letting her stay outside.]When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
