Chae Won rushed breathlessly into the hospital and stood in front of the hospital room.

Slowly opening the door and stepping inside, her eyes fell on Yoo Gun lying in bed and Secretary Ahn sitting nearby with his arm in a cast.

“Oh, you’re here. Miss Chae Won.”

Without even a moment to greet Secretary Ahn properly, Chae Won hurried straight toward Yoo Gun.

His face, still asleep with eyes closed, looked unusually pale.

Just what had happened to leave him like this overnight?

“I’m sorry, Miss Chae Won. I should’ve called you right away, but I dropped my phone at the scene, and with my arm like this, I’ve been a bit out of it.”

“What happened to him…? Why won’t he wake up?”

Secretary Ahn’s face fell, heavy with shame as he recalled the events.

“We heard Choi Ho Tae had fled and checked places he might go. We ran into him, and he got worked up trying to snatch the passport we’d prepared earlier—he started waving a knife around.”

Chae Won’s eyebrows shot up sharply.

“Fled? No… a knife?”

“Yeah, he was absolutely insane. At the end, he went completely berserk—he charged at me demanding the passport, and our CEO tried to stop him, but—”

“So…? Where was he stabbed? How badly is he hurt?”

“He was stabbed in the lower abdomen and lost quite a bit of blood while waiting for the ambulance. But luckily, he avoided damage to the aorta, and they said the surgery went well, so please don’t worry too much, Miss Chae Won.”
