I’d been feeling that the pillow was higher than usual.

The blackout curtains for the bedroom had been the first thing I installed after moving in, yet the sunlight peeking through the slightly open slats was unusually bright against my half-open eyes.

The moment I slowly rolled my eyes and realized I was lying in Choi Yu Gun’s living room, Chae Won froze solid with shock.

“…Ah.”

Suppressing a silent scream, Chae Won squeezed her eyes shut tightly and slowly sat up.

The blanket draped over her body slid down quietly.

Choi Yu Gun was sprawled on the carpeted floor, one long leg stretched out, arms crossed, leaning back against the sofa leg, sound asleep.

“Why’s he sleeping like that?”

If he’d fallen asleep, she should’ve woken him up and sent him home—then they each could’ve slept comfortably in their own places.

Glancing at him with mild annoyance, Chae Won checked how much time she had left before work and hurried toward the front door.

Just as she was slipping her feet into her shoes, Chae Won suddenly paused.

Considering he’d clearly stayed up late, it’d probably be hard for him to wake up easily—and leaving him alone like this felt cowardly.

Turning back, Chae Won approached the sofa again and leaned toward him.

“Hey.”

Her hand, reaching to wake him, stopped midair.
