Returning to her seat at lunchtime, Chaewon flopped down. She contemplated whether to eat the sandwich she had bought in a hurry, but soon pushed it to the edge of her desk.

“Forget food, let’s just sleep for 40 minutes.”

With a lack of sleep, her appetite was gone. She stretched out one arm and laid her head down, slowly blinking her eyes amidst various thoughts. The constant noise outside grew louder.

Knock knock.

At the sound of knocking, Chaewon opened her eyes.

“Teacher!”

It was Nurse Oh, peeking in with a stretched neck and a grin.

“We’re about to take a commemorative photo with Kim Jae. Would you like to join us?”

Kim Jae, a singer who had visited several times as a patient of Dr. Sungmin. Whenever a famous person visited, they would take a photo to hang up, but today, Kim Jae or not, everything seemed bothersome.

“I’ll pass.”

“Are you still upset with me? You keep saying no to everything I suggest…”

Nurse Oh’s usually lively face fell instantly.

“It’s not that I hold grudges, I just really don’t feel like taking photos right now.”

“But you usually like taking photos.”

True. She used to post on social media twice a week when her self-love was at its peak, but it’s been a while since she stopped.

Especially today, after taking several photos entwined in Choi Yoo-Gun’s arms.

“I just didn’t get enough sleep, feeling a bit tired.”

“Aww, just hang in there a bit longer, your vacation is coming up soon!”

Reminded by Nurse Oh’s words, Chaewon glanced at the calendar. Her vacation, once seeming far away, was now just around the corner.

“Have you planned anything for the holiday?”

She recalled a place she had forgotten about. This weekend, as agreed, she was scheduled to spend a night at a hotel with him.

Seeing her slow response, Nurse Oh looked a bit downcast.

“I’ve booked a hotel.”

“Wow, me too! You must be going on a hotel staycation with your boyfriend!”

“Well, yes.”

“I’ve booked K Hotel. There’s going to be a pool party with singers and everything. Which hotel did you book?”

Realizing it was the same hotel, Chaewon hesitantly parted her lips.

“Actually, the same one.”

“Great! We should meet up for a meal that day!”

Her suggestion made Chaewon’s expression awkward, but Nurse Oh, catching on, quickly lowered her tone.

“You look tired. Go ahead and get some rest.”

Once Nurse Oh left, Chaewon turned her gaze back to the calendar.

“It won’t be a big deal, don’t overthink it, Chaewon. He probably sees it as a mistake too.”

So, he wouldn’t mention that kiss. It should be buried as if it never happened.

But the problem was, her heart reacted differently in front of Choi Yoo-Gun, making her wonder if that kiss was more than just a mistake.

Lost in thought, Chaewon’s phone rang.

[Assistant Ahn]

Seeing his name, she quickly answered.

“Assistant Ahn!”

“Sorry, I’ve been in meetings all morning and couldn’t answer your call.”

“That’s okay. I just wanted to make sure you got home okay yesterday. I felt so bad for inviting you and then just letting you go after the meal.”

“It was just a game penalty. Besides, our boss isn’t the kind to act thoughtlessly. I thought he might have something to say to you.”

As his understanding voice continued, Chaewon felt more grateful and apologetic.

“Let’s have a meal together again soon. This time, I promise not to invite Choi Yoo-Gun.”
The sound of Assistant Ahn’s cheerful laughter came through the phone. Chaewon smiled in response.

“But you are dating our CEO, right? I’m pretty quick to catch on.”

“Ah.”

“Please take care of him. He’s been looking happy lately. He’s usually a workaholic, but it’s the first time I’ve seen him open his heart to a woman.”

“That can’t be true.”

“Really, it is. He’s turned down confessions from famous actresses. It’s the first time I’ve seen him like this.”

Chaewon chuckled, listening to Assistant Ahn’s playful tone.

“By the way, I’ll make sure you can leave work early today. It’s his birthday, so you should spend it with your girlfriend!”

Chaewon’s lips slowly parted in surprise.

“His birthday?”

Assistant Ahn sounded shocked that she didn’t know. Today, having taken photos in the morning, was the only day she didn’t have to meet him.

[What are you doing?] [Have you eaten?] [Looks like you’re deliberately not replying, haha.]

Despite saying he was trying to gain her attention by not replying, the absence of a response was too long.

It was cute to see her act like a hard-to-get woman, but waiting aimlessly was frustrating, even though he knew.

“Son, are you listening to me?”

Jaemin looked up sharply at his mother Youngja’s loud voice.

“Yes, of course.”

He put his phone down, following his mother’s gesture.

“Anyway, it’s just dragging on with Heeju. Just file a lawsuit.”

“But a lawsuit would take too long, and there are also asset issues.”

“What assets! If you didn’t have an affair, there’s hardly any property for Heeju. You know, has she ever contributed economically?”

“Well, it’s just that…”

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
