Chaewon, having pulled the blanket up to her chest, closed her eyes tightly and turned to her right. She then turned to her left, unable to find comfort. Blinking, she realized the air conditioning might be the issue and reached for the remote on the bedside table to adjust it.

After the air conditioner hummed back to life, she tried to sleep again but soon found herself awake.

“Phew.”

Sitting up, she slipped her feet into her slippers and went to the living room for water. After drinking and quenching her thirst, she felt more alert.

“Looks like I’m not sleeping tonight…”

Suffering from insomnia for several days, she usually avoided alcohol, knowing it made her sleep, but tonight she had deliberately drunk, worried that another sleepless night would affect her work with patients.

The alcohol she had consumed earlier, albeit making her head a little clearer, didn’t help her fall back asleep. Putting down the water cup, Chaewon shuffled back to her bedroom.

“Huh?”

She stopped upon noticing Yu-gun’s jacket.

“Oh, I forgot to return it.”

It was the jacket he had given her, suggesting she wear it to keep warm against the air conditioning draft.

“Does he need it for tomorrow?”

Considering returning it immediately, she glanced at the clock, which showed it was past 1 AM. Unsure if their morning schedules would align for a handover, she decided to leave it at his door.

After neatly folding the jacket into a large shopping bag, she stepped outside and placed it by his door. Picking up her phone, she thought a scheduled text would be best, considering he might be asleep.

[Left your jacket at your door. Thanks for letting me use it.]

Just then, the door opened, and Chaewon’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Huh?”

Yu-gun, in workout clothes, looked equally surprised.

“Ah, I just brought your jacket. I didn’t want to wake you, so I was going to leave it here.”

Realizing the situation, Yu-gun uttered, “Ah.”

“But how did you know I was here?”

“I didn’t. Came out to buy some beer. Feeling a bit thirsty.”

After placing the bag inside, Yu-gun closed the door. His hair was slightly wet, likely from a recent shower, and he wore black pants and a black hoodie.

Chaewon watched his boyish look with unfamiliarity and then stepped back.

“I don’t know if you’re the type who can drink without issues or not, but please be careful. And remember, you need to be fully conscious to get home.”

Yu-gun chuckled at her words, which sounded like a payback for his earlier caution.

“You hold a grudge?”

“That’s my charm. I don’t let things slide easily.”

“Maybe I shouldn’t have let things slide either.”

“About what?”

His gaze naturally fell on her lips.

“Did I really say something weird?”

“You weren’t exactly silent.”

As the elevator arrived, Chaewon looked at him curiously, trying to recall anything she might have said or done. But finding no answers, she looked up at Yu-gun with inquiring eyes.

Confronted with her clear, dewy gaze, Yu-gun felt a warmth surge through him, as if his cautionary measures were suddenly irrelevant.
Struggling to shift his gaze, Yu-gun quickly stepped onto the elevator before the doors closed.

“Good night.”

Chaewon, with a puzzled expression, watched the closing elevator doors with a tinge of regret.

“All that for nothing.”

She chided herself for staring unnecessarily…

Chaewon then rubbed her lips with the back of her hand, feeling unsettled by the racing of her heart. As she stood still, the motion-activated lights in the hallway gradually turned off.

“I guess I’m still not sober.”

Shaking her head to dispel unnecessary thoughts, Chaewon soon entered her house.

The next afternoon.

Holding a bouquet, Lona walked cheerfully towards Jaemin’s house. She had made a special trip to the hospital to get an ultrasound photo of the fetus to show to Youngja.

Today, after celebrating Youngja’s birthday, she planned to set a date for the formal family introduction.

“Mother, I’m here.”

“Oh, Lona, you’re here? Is our grandchild healthy?”

“Of course, mother.”

Lona greeted Youngja with a bright smile.

“Let’s go out for something delicious today. I actually reserved a table at the J Hotel restaurant.”

“Oh my! How did you know I love their food!”

“Really? Jaemin didn’t mention it, but it seems we are in sync, mother.”

While Lona was laughing and exchanging pleasantries, she noticed Jaemin, engrossed in his phone, coming out of the kitchen.

“He’s really using his brain, huh? Why isn’t he replying, huh! Oh, you’re here?”

Jaemin’s expression seemed more like he was caught doing something wrong rather than being happy to see her, causing Lona’s brows to furrow in confusion.

“What’s with that face?”

“Oh, nothing.”

Jaemin quickly pocketed his phone and approached Lona.

“I would have come to greet you if I knew you were here earlier. I was just surprised you were already here. It’s not safe for you alone.”

As Lona’s mood lightened and she chuckled, Jenny came downstairs making noise with her footsteps, holding a dog in her arms.

“Oh, it’s not Heeju unnie?”

Male lead is a Destined Young Husband (Female-dominant)

One-sentence summary: Wife-master, listen to my explanation!

Li Ruantang, a young lady from a prestigious family, stumbled and fell. When she woke up, she saw a noble and beautiful young man sitting by her bedside, wiping away tears.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.

The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.

Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.

Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.

…

Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.

Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.

After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!

Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”

The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.

It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.

When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…

Short summary by Yuushi L: Initially, the male lead (ML) liked another girl, while the female lead (FL) liked the ML. Both fell off a cliff. The FL temporarily lost her memory, and the ML, fearing others might take advantage of him, claimed FL was his wife while they were staying in a village. Later, when they returned home, the FL regained her memories and remembered that the ML liked someone else, so she kept her distance from him. However, during their time living together in the countryside, the ML’s view of the FL had completely changed. From this point, his pursuit of the FL begins.
