The black vehicle, having completed its schedule, was running through the streets of Gangnam.
Beside Yu-geon, Secretary Ahn, flipping through a notebook, quietly reported several things that needed attention.
“It seems that Kyung-hyeok will advance to the third round, facing Io Entertainment and reaching the final round.”
Yu-geon looked through the resumes of trainees unexpectedly performing well under his agency.
He didn’t know every trainee’s face, but he had been acquainted with this friend who had been a trainee for quite a long time.
Although his appearance was outstanding, he was a somewhat mediocre guy in terms of skills.
“Quite impressive.”
“I was surprised too. A friend we roughly put in to fill the quota unexpectedly gained attention… It seems he’s strong in actual competition. Unlike during practice, he doesn’t get nervous and handles the camera well. Fan cafes have already started appearing.”
“He must have been earnest, practicing to death.”
Where can you find someone strong in actual competition?
To be natural in real situations, one must practice countless times and be prepared to put everything on the line.
Having engraved the guy’s photo in his mind, Yu-geon soon filed the documents.
“Push it as much as possible, let him play around a bit.”
“Yes.”
“What about the new headquarters?”
“Oh, the land in Mapo District is currently secured at 75% of the target size, and we are steadily purchasing more as it becomes available.”
As the scale increased, they had been collecting land for relocation for several years, but it was slower than expected.
“Don’t wait, go ahead and contact them.”
“Yes, I understand. And, Professor Min Kyung-bok, whom you asked me to look into.”
Rubbing his eyes due to fatigue, Yu-geon immediately turned his head.
“He said that patients who woke up on their own from a plant-like state were lucky cases. Also, it’s not a commonly used treatment method, and as such, insurance doesn’t cover it much, so it’s quite expensive. Professor’s patient list is already full.”
There were five cases where brain-damaged patients’ eyes were opened by giving electrical stimulation to the damaged brain.
It wasn’t a 100% effective treatment, but considering some successful cases and his 15 years of research and treatment for plant-like patients, Yu-geon thought it would be better to entrust Hee-joo to him.
He couldn’t just stand by and watch Chae-won struggle.
“Make it possible.”
“What?”
“If it’s confirmed, we’ll move the hospital right away, so make room.”
“Um, sir, that’s not that easy.”
Whether he liked it or not, receiving Yu-geon’s determined gaze, Secretary Ahn meekly pursed her lips.
“Understood.”
Leaning his head against the headrest, Yu-geon turned his head toward the window.
While repeating stops on Gangnam-daero, which was quite congested, he saw a couple coming out of an ice cream shop.
The couple walking together stopped right next to a small flower shop.
After staring for a while, Yu-geon turned his head to the employee sitting in the driver’s seat.
“Stop for a moment.”
The car stopped not far away.
What should I bring to make Chae-won smile?
While alternating between an ice cream shop and a flower shop, a voice wishing it would stop now flowed cheerfully.
“I like ice cream, but I think flowers would be better. President!”
Turning around, Secretary Ahn was smiling.
It wasn’t because of Secretary Ahn’s words, but Yugeon, who was more attracted to flowers, turned his gaze to the flower shop.
Roses are too common; it would be nice to have something special and pretty…
“For now, check the types of flowers when you go there.”
Hesitant, Yugeon turned his head toward Secretary Ahn.
Whether she learned a psychological trick or not, he found Secretary Ahn reading his mind unpleasant.
With a shivering expression, Yugeon turned his head back to Secretary Ahn. Just when he pulled the handle to go out, worrying about any pollen allergies or the like.
“I saw at the venue that there’s no pollen allergy. Choose with ease. President!”
“What are you doing?”
Yugeon looked at Secretary Ahn with a horrified expression.
“Yes?”
“Did you learn something somewhere?”
“What? What are you talking about? What did I learn?”
Looking at Secretary Ahn blinking her eyes several times, Yugeon shook his head several times.
Alright. Staring at the back of his head about to leave, Secretary Ahn rolled her eyes with a blank expression.
She recommended one of the two stores they looked at alternately, told him to go inside and see at the flower shop, and remembered that he was doing well at the flower-filled event venue today…
“Chief, did I do something wrong?”
Thinking carefully, she also didn’t seem to know, shrugging her shoulders.
Secretary Ahn, looking at Yugeon’s back with an expression that seemed to say she couldn’t understand again, started searching for a jewelry shop with a face that couldn’t be determined.
Thanks to Yugeon, who had softened a bit while dating, her life was going warmly.
The day they break up should never happen, even for the sake of my smooth life.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
