Jae In silently writhed, blaming herself for not stopping Do Hyuk more firmly back then.

Unaware—or perhaps aware—that he was causing her pain, Do Hyuk stared fixedly ahead.

If Jae In had even a sliver of hope at this moment, it was only that she could see City Hall Station in the distance.

‘Just ten more minutes, and I can get off! Time, please hurry! Please go faster!’

Just as Jae In muttered that useless little chant while gazing out the window,

a three-story building with elegant solid-wood interior decor caught her eye.

“Oh! It’s ‘Bake Moon’!”

Jae In exclaimed happily and pressed herself against the window.

Apparently intrigued, Do Hyuk—since getting into the car—finally asked his first question.

“What’s that?”

“It’s the bakery of Master Moon Gwang Il, whom I deeply admire. His Mont Blancs and tarts are the best in Korea. One bite, and you’re instantly happy.”

“So you came here often?”

“Yes. Whenever I felt completely exhausted after leaving home and starting out on my own, I’d come here for comfort. I even made a promise to myself someday I’d have a bakery just as wonderful. I haven’t been able to come lately because I’ve been so busy.”

Jae In’s expression turned unusually serious.

“In truth, it was because Master Moon Gwang Il came from there that I decided to attend a Japanese pastry school. He’s my role model.”
