“If things go south… they even said to take care of Ha Joon too?”

Seo Ah’s heart dropped with a thud.

Ha Joon was currently protecting Young Joo and trying to find out who the enemy was, but since he could just send someone else instead of acting himself, she hadn’t even considered that Ha Joon might be in danger.

And now it turned out this danger stemmed from her own family’s issues. Did that mean Ha Joon wouldn’t have had to face this risk if it weren’t for her?

Come to think of it, it had seemed a bit odd. Tae Sung Group—no one should dare provoke them so recklessly. She’d assumed it was simply because she’d never paid attention to business affairs, but apparently that wasn’t the case after all.

“W-who said that?”

“I don’t know. If they find out I overheard it, they won’t let me off easily. I didn’t even have time to get a good look at their face.”

Unable to hide the upward twitch of her lips, Ji Young watched Seo Ah’s face go deathly pale.

“You seem to really care about Ha Joon… If you truly care for him, shouldn’t you let him go as soon as possible?”

That night,

Ha Joon said he’d be late coming home because of a business trip out of town, and Seo Ah sat alone, leaning against the headboard, lost in thought.

Ji Young’s words from earlier left her unsettled.

She thought Ji Young might have heard something about Young Joo being in danger, but because of Ji Young’s final comment, Seo Ah suspected she’d mixed in lies to drive a wedge between her and Ha Joon.

Still, the idea that Ha Joon himself might be in danger kept nagging at her.

Suddenly, she checked the time.
