Ziiiiing—Ziiiiing—
On a Saturday morning, Young-ju’s phone, which was resting at home, vibrated loudly.
It was the vibration of the phone Seo Ah had been told was for work.
“Sigh…….”
Heaving a deep sigh, Young-ju pressed the call button, and a man immediately shouted on the other end.
“Dash] How exactly do you handle your work! I’m certain Kang Ha Joon and Seo Ah dislike each other!
It was the broker. He had received a call from a client who became anxious after noticing something unusual between the two at the alumni gathering.
Young-ju calmly opened his mouth.
“Tell them to relax, it’s just an act.”

“Dash] But the acting is too natural! It doesn’t seem like acting! Haven’t we been caught faking the photos?”
“The composite photos are meaningless now.”
“Dash] What?”
“Back then, it was before their marriage, and now they know each other’s schedules too well, so there’s a high risk of getting caught.”
“Dash] Then what are we going to do! Can we get them divorced within three months? If we can’t get them divorced within that time, we’re all dead!”
“We have to catch the real scene.”
“Dash] Both of them aren’t interested in the opposite sex and don’t even go near bars, so what scene are you going to catch!”
“I’ve done this kind of thing once or twice. We have to create the scene.”
“Dash] It’s been two weeks. You know the faster it’s done, the more money involved, right?”
“I got it, so stop calling! Do you know how awkward it is when you call while I’m with Seo Ah?”

Young-ju hung up without listening to the other person and picked up another phone, grumbling.
It was to reply to a text from Seo Ah the day before.
[Unni, haven’t you found the assistant who delivered the chocolate yet?]As Ha Joon had guessed, Young-ju hadn’t delivered the chocolate to anyone.
So, it was natural that no one had received it.
Until then, Young-ju had only needed to convey what was happening between Yu Young Group, Seo Ah, and Ha Joon, and show a trustworthy image to Seo Ah and her parents, but this was the first time he had to concoct a scheme himself.
If Ha Joon had said he hadn’t received the chocolates, Young-ju had planned to insist he did.
Since Ha Joon disliked Seo Ah. Young-ju was confident Seo Ah would believe him over Ha Joon.
But Young-ju was also young, so he was nervous.
If Ha Joon seriously tried to find out who delivered it, Young-ju had thought of various excuses like leaving it between the gates or delivering it without seeing the face because he was busy,

Fortunately, Ha Joon had no interest in chocolates.
Young-ju had overheard Ha Joon talking to Seo Ah once, and he was convinced that Ha Joon didn’t just dislike Seo Ah, but despised her.
Then, Seo Ah said something unexpected.
“Dash] On the day I pressed you, brother had all the housekeepers checked, and he even searched the garbage disposal himself.”
He had gone that far, so why hadn’t he asked Young-ju?
Young-ju was curious about the reason, but had no intention of investigating further.
It was essential that Ha Joon and Seo Ah never clear up their misunderstandings.
Soon, he pressed the reply button and composed a text.
“I’m sorry. I’ve been a bit busy lately and haven’t had time to check. Is it urgent?”
He pressed send, and not long after, a reply came.

“No. Take your time to find out.”

Young-ju knew it. If she said she was busy, Seo Ah wouldn’t be able to press her.
Because Seo Ah thought terribly of her.
She had bought some time, but the recent phone call was worrying her.
“Dash] The acting is too natural! It doesn’t seem like acting!”
Though she pretended not to be flustered and reassured them calmly,
In reality, she had been anxious lately, observing Seo Ah’s behavior, thinking that Seo Ah might have developed a good relationship with Ha Joon.
It had been strange since the time Seo Ah went to the department store alone, without Young-ju knowing.
The personal shopper had bought tea and a diffuser, good for insomnia. Seo Ah, who slept a lot, couldn’t have insomnia, so it must have been for Ha Joon.
If she had intended to show off her supportive role, she should have told Young-ju and gone shopping together. Keeping it a secret was suspicious.

When they returned from their honeymoon, doubling as a trip to Jeju Island, Seo Ah seemed too excited, which was disconcerting.
And then, she had asked about her own drinking habits.
“Dash] Do you remember when I mixed soju and beer at twenty and passed out? Did I really just sleep and not do anything?”
So, Young-ju tested Seo Ah with a lie, saying she seemed to talk and act more affectionately,
To which Seo Ah became restless and rambled, looking utterly suspicious.
It wasn’t like she confessed something to Ha Joon while drunk, right?
“Sigh…….”
Young-ju’s sigh grew deeper.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
