At Chester’s voice, she lifted her head slightly. He scooped up a piece of cake with his fork and brought it to her lips.

He parted his lips just slightly as he spoke. Before Whitney could even grasp what was happening, a sweet morsel of cake slipped into her mouth, making her blink in surprise.

“Just eat it first. We’ll talk after.”
