Whitney climbed into the carriage to visit the winery Rain had mentioned. By chance, Sir Jegmun was at home, perhaps because it was his day off. In the end, the four of them—Whitney, Rain, Sir Jegmun, and Sir Hawin—headed toward Mr. Lindsay’s winery.

The road was full of stones, causing the carriage to jolt, and Whitney covered her mouth with a handkerchief against the nausea she hadn’t felt in ages.

‘We still have an entire hour of this?’

At this rate, she might end up vomiting before they even got far.

“Brother, I don’t think I can manage much longer. Would it be better if I rode a horse instead? What do you think?”

“There’s only one horse available. Do you know how to ride, Your Grace?”

Whitney shook her head. It was a source of shame, but she had never received a proper education. During her time in the palace, she had only been taught etiquette and academic subjects—never equestrian skills.

Though many noblewomen learned horseback riding, Cecilia had never given Whitney the chance. Melissa had shown no interest and refused to learn, so ultimately the House of Orleans had never needed horses.

“I never had the chance to learn due to certain circumstances. I’m fine—I can continue like this.”

“My guard knows how to ride, but since the horse isn’t mine, it won’t listen to me unless I ride with it. Would that be all right with you?”

“I don’t want to cause you any extra trouble because of me. After all, it was I who insisted on visiting the winery—I’ll just bear with it.”

Jegmun fell silent for a moment, then stopped the carriage.

“I’ll go back to the mansion and fetch something. Wait here and rest.”

“Don’t worry, just go. There are flowers nearby and a canal—we’ll take a stroll while we wait.”

Rain waved her hand dismissively at Jegmun. He stepped down from the carriage and quickly vanished from sight.
