Blackening the Affectionate Male Lead (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 17
“…Is that really true? How on earth did you manage it?”
“You heard it yourself, sister. I went to the palace, and Her Majesty the Queen will summon me again soon.”
“Really?”
Whitney nodded. Then she took her sister’s hand, seated her in a chair, and asked a maid for tea.
“First, calm down and have some tea. Though your flushed cheeks from excitement are quite charming, a noble lady must never lose her composure—especially in her demeanor.”
As she spoke, she gently adjusted the jewelry on Melissa’s dress. Unlike Melissa’s ostentatious attire, Whitney’s outfit was calm yet elegant in design.
“…Are you trying to lecture me now?”
Melissa nearly raised her hand in protest, but realizing this wasn’t her own home, she clenched her fist and hid her hand beneath the table.
“That’s not it at all, sister. I only spoke because I hoped what I’ve learned might benefit you. Her Majesty seemed to favor modest and composed women. Why not observe the fashions of the central nobility more closely than those of the capital? After all, you’re a respected figure in society.”
“I’ll handle my own affairs. So don’t act so presumptuous.”
Melissa sniffed disdainfully as she lifted her teacup. Whitney nodded and stepped back slightly. Seeing Melissa’s irritated expression, Whitney couldn’t help but let the corners of her mouth twitch.
‘Looks like she’ll be leaving soon.’
Her aunt wouldn’t want to keep Melissa here much longer anyway. Melissa had already made her debut, and no longer needed a guardian—there was simply no reason for her to stay. Above all, her aunt wouldn’t keep someone unrelated to Whitney under her roof.
“I’ll call for your carriage. There’s nothing else you need at the Ducal Mansion, is there?”
“Things have been quiet here without you. That just proves you’re the only unnecessary person in Orleans. Nothing happens at all when you’re gone.”

This is the first time I’ve seen a good aunt help the heroine; I think this novel is different.
