“Team Leader Gye, that damn…… Didn’t he tell me to go rush over and get an interview? Told me to go track them down and dig for info. It hasn’t even been a week since the funeral—does he count as human?”

I distinctly remembered hearing the name “Team Leader Gye” in Eun Su’s drunken lament long ago. Additionally, I’d once accidentally overheard her talking on the phone with Sol Hee.

“Ugh, damn it, I ran into Team Leader Gye. Remember? Back when I quit the magazine, he hit on me during the company dinner. I told you I couldn’t stand it—even if I could tolerate everything else, that was the last straw, so I flipped out.”

“Hit on you?” I nearly cut in to ask exactly what awful thing had happened, but I held back rationally. Eun Su probably didn’t even know I’d overheard her.

“You must’ve been out on an errand.”

Team Leader Gye spoke while looking toward Eun Su, but Ju Han answered right away.

“No, we’re off-duty today. It’s not our working hours.”

“Then…?”

“As you can see, we’re on a date.”

“What?”

Team Leader Gye’s expression visibly twisted. Ju Han’s eyebrows twitched, but he immediately softened into a gentle smile.

“If you have time, why don’t we grab a coffee together?”

“Oh, no, it’s fine. Maybe another time.”

“Alright then.”

Team Leader Gye turned to leave, and Ju Han and Eun Su sat back down. Ju Han naturally reached out and took Eun Su’s hand on the table.
