“It’s not about receiving more royalties or guaranteeing massive sales. What’s important is establishing a good image and recognition among our first-time customers in Korea.”
The representative adjusted his posture slightly and quickly added,
“Since we’re both taking time out of our busy schedules, I’ll be direct. While I can see that ‘Vida’ deeply understands our works, especially the ‘Marsi Madsen’ edition, I am a bit concerned whether you can provide more exposure and promotion opportunities compared to others.”
“Of course, there are bigger companies than us, but…”
“I regret it too. It would be great if ‘Vida’ and we could work together in the future.”
The representative tactfully but firmly indicated refusal. Eunsu bit the inside of her cheek.
She couldn’t back down now, but nothing more came to mind to appeal further.
That’s when Juhan, who had been silent, spoke up.
“There’s something we haven’t mentioned yet.”
The representative looked puzzled. Juhan smiled meaningfully.

“We can ensure that ‘Rittiang’s’ furniture appears weekly, for more than a month, in a highly anticipated Watplus entertainment program. Would this be an acceptable condition for you?”
Eunsu’s eyes widened more than the representative’s.
What’s he doing suddenly going off like this? Was this why he came along?
But Juhan, not even glancing at Eunsu, continued speaking calmly.
“It’ll be more effective than a formal PPL contract. PPL can backfire if it’s too much, but with Watplus, we naturally mention the product in the content, and the brand promotes the content. The more popular the content, the greater the promotional effect.”
The representative eyed Juhan and Eunsu sharply.
“That’s a condition I’ve never heard from others… Is it true? Which program?”
Though he seemed a bit skeptical, his interest was evident.
Eunsu, realizing there was no turning back, forced a smile.
“That… it’s under embargo, so I can’t say specifically, but we’re going to appear in a Watplus original entertainment program.”

“It’s confirmed?”
“Yes. And our workplace is the main setting, so the products will be featured often. Naturally and without aversion, on a global OTT platform.”
Eunsu concluded her explanation calmly.
“If you consider it positively, we’ll prepare more detailed materials.”
After the meeting, Juhan and Eunsu stepped outside the hotel.
Standing dazedly, Juhan suddenly turned to Eunsu.
“What if they ask us to appear on that program?”
“Why did you say that?”
Eunsu’s face was full of disbelief.
“You were the one who brought up the additional condition out of nowhere!”

“I thought Jang Solhee might agree to a location or prop sponsorship, so I mentioned it, but if you end up committing to an appearance…”
“What…?”
Eunsu scrambled to recall the situation.
What exactly did he say? ‘We can ensure that ‘Rittiang’s’ furniture appears weekly, for more than a month, in a highly anticipated Watplus entertainment program.’
He really only said that…?
Her vision blurred, and her head went blank. Biting her lip, she fretted.
Damn. This is a major mess. How do we handle this?
Noticing Eunsu’s pale face, Juhan spoke softly.
“Let’s wait and see. If ‘Rittiang’ says they still can’t proceed with the deal, then it ends there.”
“But what if they agree to the contract with that condition?”

Neither of them had anticipated being in a situation where they couldn’t be happy whether the deal fell through or succeeded. Juhan, looking as troubled as Eunsu, sighed deeply.
“We don’t just want more royalties or guarantees of high sales. Initially, it’s crucial for us to establish a favorable image and gain recognition among our first Korean customers.”
The representative subtly shifted his posture and quickly continued,
“To be frank, as much as I recognize that ‘Vida’ deeply understands our works, especially the ‘Marsi Madsen’ edition, I’m a bit worried whether you can offer us more promotional and exposure opportunities than others.”
“Of course, there are bigger companies out there…”
“I’m sorry about this. I would love to work with ‘Vida’ in the future.”
The representative tactfully yet firmly suggested their refusal. Eunsu clenched her jaw, holding back her frustration.
She couldn’t just retreat now, but nothing else came to mind to further persuade them.
At that moment, Juhan, who had been silent, spoke up.
“There’s one thing we haven’t mentioned yet.”
The representative looked curious. Juhan smiled enigmatically.

“We can arrange for ‘Rittiang’s’ furniture to be featured weekly, for over a month, in a popular Watplus entertainment program. Would such a condition be acceptable?”
Eunsu’s eyes widened more than the representative’s.
Why is he going off script like this? Is this why he came along?
But Juhan, without glancing at Eunsu, continued speaking calmly.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
