Although the question had come from Jade, my answer ended up sounding directed at April. Still, Jade nodded as if he’d personally received the reply.

I whipped around to stare at Rodri with betrayed eyes. Walking beside me, Rodri subtly looked away. He wore a guilty expression, yet showed no sign of regret.
