At the End of Ruin, There You Are (56 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 47
Beatrice Lavalle, the Lady of Monde, did not particularly like Lusenford. To her, this place was a shameful and shabby refuge.
Back when House Monde had fallen so far into ruin that they’d considered tearing down the castle to sell the building materials, young Beatrice had nowhere else to go but Lusenford, separated from her debt-harassed mother.
Cold, barren, and full of rough people—this place was inherently incompatible with her nature.
“How are you, my lady? Does the food suit your taste?”
Above all, the people here knew Beatrice at her most wretched. They remembered the pitiful days when she, trembling violently, had no choice but to seek shelter with the Grand Duke—her childhood friend, who himself had been practically abandoned at Lusenford. They knew, and thus pitied her.
Even now, the butler addressed her this way only because she was dining alone. Beatrice gritted her teeth inwardly but smiled faintly outwardly.
“Yes. It’s always excellent. It reminded me of a nostalgic flavor.”
“To be honest, the head chef has kept changing, so I worried it might not taste familiar anymore—but I’m relieved to hear otherwise.”
“The kitchens of Lusenford Castle have maintained that flavor. Actually, they’ve even improved a bit.”
“Oh, is that so?”
The butler brightened visibly. Beatrice, who needed to make a good impression here, nodded. It was also her genuine opinion.
“Yes. The ingredients are far richer now, and the flavors truly stand out. Lusenford’s kitchens are steadily improving—they’ve become a whole level more refined.”
Truthfully, the food here used to be so rustic that she’d avoided coming here, even partly for that reason. Yet, surprisingly, the moment the appetizer arrived, Beatrice couldn’t help but widen her eyes.
Everything—from its presentation to its aroma—was different. The potato cream soup, which had always been unevenly mashed with lumps remaining, now arrived perfectly smooth, elegantly garnished, and tasted quite good as well.
The grilled sole from the cold seas and the beef, slow-cooked for hours, that followed were equally delicious. Beatrice considered this meal rather satisfying.

After Being Cheated On, She Picked Up a Treasure (Female-dominant)
One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.
On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.
Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.
News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.
Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.
But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.
The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.
The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”
So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.
She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.
*
After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.
Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.
Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.
She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.
“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”
