“Yes, I will. By the way… when this article comes out, the rumors about Dajeong will probably disappear completely.”
Although it had subsided a lot, the rumor that Dajeong approached Taesang for money had not completely disappeared.
Dajeong smiled somewhat bitterly, looking at Journalist Song.
“Well, people tend to believe what they want to believe. I guess things like Taesang’s background don’t really matter… I don’t think there are many people who think that way.”
Looking at Dajeong’s downcast eyes, Taesang reached out and placed his arm around her round shoulders. Pulling her towards him, Dajeong slipped into one of his arms.
“It might fit in when people see us like this now, but it’s a pity that it won’t be so easily accepted.”
She took a step back, looking at the two. Their close stance seemed natural as if they were one body.
Although the journalist’s instinct to capture the moment twitched, it was already promised not to include Dajeong’s photos. She turned her gaze away with a sense of regret.
At that time, the elevator arrival sound echoed in the corridor.
“Well, then I’ll be going now. Be sure to check it out when the article comes out.”
She lightly bowed her head and stepped into the elevator.

“Sigh…”
When the door closed, Dajeong let out a long sigh.
Somehow, it felt like the energy had drained out. Leaning her head lightly on his chest, Taesang whispered a soft voice over her head.
“You don’t have to believe anyone.”
“What?”
Dajeong’s head tilted slightly towards him.
“You didn’t want me for my background. I know that the best.”
“Taesang…”
His confident voice gently tapped her heart. Dajeong smiled gently, leaning her head against his chest. He knew, and that was enough.
But…

“Hey… do you know what was the best thing I received from Taesang?”
“I don’t know.”
“A half piece of bread.”
“…”
Taesang’s eyes momentarily widened in surprise. He cautiously pulled Dajeong, who was tightly pressed against him, away and slowly lowered his waist.
When their eyes met, Dajeong’s eyes softened.
“Did you do your homework well? I remembered Taesang. When did we first meet.”
Dajeong smiled softly, hugging Taesang’s neck. Taesang still looked at her with a surprised expression.
“Ah, I’ve never seen this face before.”
Dajeong lightly brushed his cheek, pleased with the innocent kiss. Although his eyebrows twitched slightly at the childish kiss, he smiled faintly.

Taesang pressed the button for the private elevator heading to the suite.
“You… Let’s see at home.”
The weighty declaration echoed like a whisper in his ears.
In the morning, heavy rain poured down. The loud sound of rain hitting the window filled the living room.
Chairman Cha stared at the newspaper with a stern face. It was more like staring than reading, a gaze that seemed to just look. Deep sorrow flickered in his hardened eyes.
Today’s Dae Sung Ilbo featured an exclusive interview with Taesang and Dajeong.
There were things he already knew and facts he encountered for the first time. There were also secrets he didn’t want to reveal and truths deliberately turned away from.
Each letter seemed to warm his heart. Despite thinking that it had stiffened like a dead tree, the inner flesh remained tender even as he aged.
He was foolish. He hadn’t just been watching like this.
Originally, when the controversy erupted, Taesang asked me to handle everything. Since he wasn’t a grandson who would boast without a plan, Chairman Cha allowed it, saying so.
Initially, Taesang seemed to be on the right track. He started looking for evidence to clear Myeongok’s name and made efforts to calm public opinion.

It seemed like the situation was going to be resolved, but a while later, articles about Dajeong came out. Perhaps that was when the media’s attitude towards Taesang became even more hostile.
There’s a limit even if they mock Hyosung, Taesang, and me. Chairman Cha immediately called in the heads of the secretary’s office and the PR team.
He thundered like a storm, asking how they handled the situation to end up like this. Surprisingly, the secretary’s director, who had lowered his head considerably, conveyed an unexpected message.
It was all Taesang’s instructions, and we went to the media several times. Chairman Cha was left speechless by the shocking revelation.
He knew that Taesang didn’t have affection for him, but he didn’t expect such a reckless act.
His mouth felt particularly bitter. Chairman Cha slowly sipped his chrysanthemum tea with a sluggish movement.
“I rested too long.”
Whatever Taesang might say, he should have stepped in earlier. He should have clearly shown what happens when you mess with his people.
Because he didn’t, his dear grandson-in-law revealed his own wounds.
Rather than becoming a protective grandfather, he ended up as someone hiding behind a small curtain. The epithet “bull of the business world” seemed truly fitting.

Chairman Cha picked up the phone lying on the negotiation table. An expression of restrained anger could be sensed beneath his stern demeanor.
“Director Yoon.”
Not long after pressing the call button, the other party answered the phone immediately. He pressed his fingers firmly against the armrest of the chair as he spoke.
“I’ll see you this afternoon. Bring Kim Beonha with you.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
