Dajeong poured a drink with her left hand, replacing her uncomfortable right hand. It was the apple juice that Seonjae had enjoyed yesterday.
Then, the figure of Seonjae approaching from a distance appeared. Today, he seemed not in the mood to play tricks, carrying only a light shopping bag.
“Welcome.”
Dajeong greeted calmly at the boarding gate.
With a slight nod in response to the greeting, he boarded the plane.
Then he handed the shopping bag to Dajeong. Through the opening, chocolates and cookies were visible.
“…”
Looking at him with a puzzled expression, he smiled warmly at Dajeong.
“I felt bad about what happened yesterday, so I bought some snacks.”
“Thank you.”

Dajeong reached out slowly and accepted the shopping bag.
“Enjoy it. I chose the most expensive one.”
He chuckled and moved on. The direction his steps took was towards the gallery where the office manager was.
Dajeong stood frozen in place.
She wanted to say take the apple, but how do you say it like this? How do you throw it back in his face?
Because she was a flight attendant, because she was Taesang’s girlfriend, because she would be Hyosung’s daughter-in-law. For various reasons, she couldn’t easily confront him.
“Ha…”
At that quiet sigh.
Suddenly, the inside of her palm emptied, and the bag swiftly slipped out of her hand.
Dajeong raised her head in surprise, swallowing her breath. Revealed before her eyes was Taesang.
“Ta-Taesang… Vice President.”

With disheveled hair and a tired-looking face, he seemed quite unfamiliar. It looked like he might be angry, so Dajeong tensed slightly.
He carefully scanned Dajeong with his sharp eyes, meticulously, in detail. After thoroughly confirming everything with his eyes, he let out a small sigh.
It was a very faint sound, almost like a breath that was almost inaudible.
“Ho-How did you… here…”
Dajeong looked at him with a surprised expression. Hoping for some explanation, Taesang still didn’t say anything.
He gently held the tip of Dajeong’s hand. It felt like he barely touched the tip of her nails. Dajeong was surprised and studied his complexion. The heavy, sunken eyes seemed to be holding something back.
“…”
Suddenly, she realized that he was holding her injured hand.
Could he possibly know something?
With a puzzled thought, Taesang released the tip of her hand.

He passed by without saying a word. A chilling anger could be felt from his stiffened profile.
Steady footsteps approached Seonjae.
Seonjae was engrossed in conversation with the office manager.
How slow the development was in China, how difficult it was to do business with people whose civic consciousness was low. He was busy complaining and had no time to spare.
Then, the eyes of the office manager widened when he suddenly noticed Taesang.
Seonjae, wondering what was happening, slowly turned his head.
Thud!
“Ah!”
The uneven shopping bag stabbed directly into his chest. Taesang pressed his palm firmly against the bag as if it were a gesture, and Dajeong’s eyes widened in surprise. What he revealed in front of her was Taesang.
“Ta-Taesang… Vice President.”

Seemingly disbelieving, he opened his mouth wide. He looked as if he couldn’t believe it, and his eyes widened as if something unbelievable was happening. He staggered, then quickly grabbed and held onto the shopping bag.
“What are you doing here…”
“Don’t take this. You eat it.”
“What?”
“I won’t eat it.”
Taesang growled as he stared at him.
Seonjae seemed bewildered for a moment, then straightened up, lifting his chin.
Although he might think it made him look strong, in reality, it only emphasized his weak upper body.
He raised his chin and opened his mouth.
“You went through the trouble to buy it for me, but you’re such a jerk.”

“…”
Taesang slowly lifted his foot, narrowing the distance between them even further. The fierce aura flowing through his entire body cast a dark and elongated shadow on the ground.
“Good intentions.”
“Yeah, right.”
“Having good intentions now after causing harm to someone.”
Seonjae raised his eyebrows slightly, seeming a bit surprised. However, after a moment, he casually spoke, turning his gaze away.
“Well, it’s not because of me. The plane suddenly…”
“Kang Seonjae.”
Taesang placed his hand on his shoulder and spoke with a heavy tone. The jacket seemed to indent deeply around Taesang’s fingertips, indicating a significant force.
“You’ll pay for what you’ve done. Very harshly.”
“What?”

“Plenty, to the point of being sick of it, for a duration that seems endless.”
“Hey, Cha Ta…”
“Of course, your grandfather won’t hear about it. I’ll make sure you bear it alone.”
Seonjae felt that something was wrong. While he normally had a persistent and cold demeanor, he had never seen him act so recklessly.
An inquisitive gaze turned towards Taesang.
“Why on earth are you…”
“Get out of here right now.”
Taesang interrupted him and pulled out a ticket from his jacket pocket. It was an economy class boarding pass with Seonjae’s name written on it.
Seeing it, Seonjae’s eyebrows furrowed deeply.
“What is this? Who are you to change my seat without permission?”

“Not as I please, but according to the regulations.”
Taesang said, glancing at the office manager.
Caught in the gaze, Changjin blinked nervously. After a moment, realizing his role, he quickly took out his work tablet.
After tapping the screen a few times, today’s flight information appeared on the LCD.
“H-How is this possible…”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
