Waving and smiling, Youngjin slightly raised his eyebrows, responding to her smile. Then, very quickly, he glanced to the side.
“…”
Briefly.
It was a look as if to say, “Oh, it’s you.” He then turned back to the center of the audience, gracefully bowed his waist, and sat in front of the piano.
Starting to play, he delivered a soothing performance that had always calmed his heart since childhood.
A gentle melody, a fully occupied seat next to him. At this moment, Dajeong thought that this moment was more beautiful and perfect than any artistic work she had seen today.
Automatically, strength flowed into the hand she was holding. In response, Taesang gently exerted force as if acknowledging her.
Dajeong spoke with a small smile.
‘Thank you for coming.’
‘Anytime.’
After the performance, Youngjin headed to the dormitory to change clothes.

Dajeong unknowingly felt tension as they were about to meet. One person was unexpectedly mischievous, and the other was excessively overwhelming.
In the meal they had planned to share together, her role in the middle was more important than anything. Dajeong quietly relied on herself.
Then, Youngjin, in comfortable attire, appeared on the other side of the lobby. The large gray shirt clearly revealed the angles of his shoulders.
Dajeong quickly turned her head towards Taesang.
“You know, I haven’t said a word about Mr. Taesang yet.”
“I’ll say it myself.”
“Oh, well…”
Dajeong hesitated a bit before continuing.
“How about just casually mentioning it today? If Youngjin knows who Mr. Taesang is, he might feel uncomfortable. Just say he’s a superior. Working at the headquarters, we coincidentally met on the plane. In fact, it’s not entirely a lie. If Youngjin feels uneasy for no reason…”
“Handa-jeong.”

“Yes?”
Taesang stepped forward, coming closer. In the pleasantly scented air dominated by a rich woody fragrance, he uttered a deep voice.
“Look. There’s Youngjin over there.”
“…?”
Following his finger, Dajeong moved her head absentmindedly. There, Youngjin was walking confidently with an indifferent expression.
“A grown man.”
He said in a low voice. For a moment, Dajeong’s pupils shook significantly.
“Even if you’re his sister, you’ve raised him like this.”
“…”
“A respectable man. So stop worrying.”

Dajeong couldn’t say anything. His words were an undeniable fact.
In fact, looking back, she had spent the whole day worrying about Youngjin.
Would he feel hurt if we brought up the day of the accident? Would he feel lonely if he saw me sitting alone in the audience?
Although SuBin was there to cover and respond whenever she brought up such concerns, in retrospect, she realized that she had been treating Youngjin like a child.
“…You’re right.”
Taesang’s words were like an alarm clock waking her up. Dajeong gently bit her lip.
“You don’t have to protect him one by one. And anyway…”
“…?”
“It’s usually not like that.”
Taesang, looking at Youngjin with a relaxed gaze, spoke. The brother, who had become remarkably close to showing his emotions, was scrutinizing Taesang with quite a sharp look.

A rather twisted expression. Within it, there was a bit of curiosity and quite explicit dissatisfaction.
He said he would come, changed his mind and said he wouldn’t, then showed up again without any notice. It seemed that Youngjin didn’t particularly like that kind of Taesang.
“Please… take care.”
Dajeong managed to squeeze out just one word. Perhaps her belief that her role was important was nothing more than her own delusion.
“Nuna.”
As the distance closed, Youngjin naturally turned his gaze. Scanning from a distance that wouldn’t be impolite was a clever trait of his as a younger brother.
Dajeong approached Youngjin with a bright smile.
“The performance was impressive, right? It seems like you played even better than before.”
“Your praise was the same during the last performance. Nuna, you lack both creativity and memory.”
“Then you played just as well as last time. Is it settled now?”
Youngjin shrugged his shoulders with a composed face and replied.

“Hehe, say hello. …To the person you wanted to see.”
Instead of making awkward boyfriend sounds, Dajeong introduced Taesang with appropriate words.
“Hello. I’m Hanyoungjin.”
As if asking when he had ever acted arrogantly, Youngjin politely bowed. His clear eyes and calm voice gave off a rather smart impression.
“I’m Chataesang.”
Taesang greeted lightly, initiating the conversation.
“I enjoyed the performance.”
“Thank you.”
Contrary to his words, his expression remained indifferent.
“The technique of using various techniques within a fast tempo was very good.”

“…”
Youngjin’s eyes showed interest. He slightly raised the corners of his mouth and looked at Taesang.
“Is that so? But what about the piece itself, aside from the performer? How did you find the composition?”
His voice was calm and straightforward. Since he had made the first move, it was like saying, “Now, it’s your turn to handle it.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
